I think the hate for Hinrich by a lot of people is as much an overreaction as some fans' love for him. He's a solid player, not outstanding by any stretch of the imagination. I guess he overachieved his first like 5 years or so in the league or something because I'll admit I thought he was going to be legit. He did average around 17 and 8 if I remember correctly. I suppose he was projected to be a mid to late first rounder for a reason.

That said, you could do a lot worse than Hinrich. Plus like the OP said, he's familiar with the organization and would be fine coming off the bench. I don't think he's a better shooter than CJ, but he's definitely a better passer imo. He's always been solid defensively. His ability to guard some players even at the SF position has always been underrated imo. He has his flaws (lack of athleticism is the main one people like to harp about) but again, we could do a lot worse.

I won't be up in arms if we get him, but obviously I want us looking at Nash, Billups, Miller, and maybe even Dragic and Bayless first before we think about signing him.

As far as being a fan favorite goes...that's definitely not the case around these parts...:smug:

I don't think Nash or Miller would mind coming off the bench for Rose if it means they have a chance of winning a ring. They are both closer to 40 than 30 and either have a ring and are running out of time.
**** Hinrich, get it done Pax.

Sign Nash and trade for Gordon.

The chances are better that the Bulls will get Hinrich than Steve Nash. Where has Nash said that he would take a back up role anywhere? I want to see that. The guy led the league in assists if I am not mistaken...why would he want to play 20mpg with the Bulls? Makes no sense.

Yeah I highly doubt Nash comes here, but...worth a shot? He's by far the best option.

I think we´ll end up with either Hinrich or Watson, which I´m totally ok with.

Hinrich would be a better fit for the bench mob because he has a better court vision and his defense is better, too.

If it is Watson I hope he returns to the Watson who can score 30 points because that is something we really need.

I don´t see any of the guys you ask for getting here.

Nash is still a top 5-8 PG. He can be the starter almost everywhere, why would he choose to play behind Derrick! Plus the Bulls do simply not have enough money to convince him. So don´t waste your time dreaming about Nash.

Dragic is an upcoming player and I´m sure he also doesn´t want to come here. Plus not for small money.

Rose
Hamilton
Deng, Butler
Boozer, Gibson
Noah

Our team will look like this for sure plus a highly return of Asik and maybe even Lucas.

Watson, Korver and Brewer I think will not be with the team all together again.

Brewer might be the one to go since we have Butler. Korver is a great shooter and has to be defended every single time, which is a plus. It´s important to have guys who are good moving without the ball. The thing is he doesn´t seem to get open in the Playoffs!

What just came to my mind:

Can you see the Bulls moving Brewer and Korver, keeping Watson, moving him to the backup SG and signing Hinrich for the backup PG?

But even with a team like that the Bulls are going nowhere. Boozer, Deng and Noah are taking too much money to let this team improve. We need a bigtime scorer to improve and the best available is Eric Gordon or even Kevin Martin. Maybe it would have been better not to sign Hamilton and play one year with Brewer at the 2.

Either way one of Boozer, Noah or Deng has to go. I would love to see Boozer go out of this 3 since Gibson is our closest backup to the starting spot. The question is how do you give up Boozer and in best case Hamilton to get a guy like Eric Gordon/Kevin Martin?

The backup PG spot is not really what matters this offseason!
