Why the false report? Any theories?

OK, two ESPN NBA insiders were saying the same thing, including Chris Broussard. Apparently it was wrong. Do you have any theories why they were fed bad information? Was it a calculated move by one of the players? Obviously, these were valued sources for them to run with the story. Why would a "good" source, suddenly turn on them?

Do you think the ESPN guys made it up? Besides ESPN generating buzz, who would have benefited by spreading bad info? Do you think it was coming from LeBron's camp? Do you think he wanted to kill all the talk of him to Chicago?

Any theories?

ZOMGZ ITS ALL A CONSPIRACY!!

no maybe it was just missinformation or something idk

or just someone made it up as a rumor and a "source" took it to be true and told Broussard or whatever

The only conspiracy theory that I think has a chance of being true would be the Heat starting the rumor in order to sell season tickets, because I've heard that has been the result. But I think most likely it was just a case of ESPN not doing a very good job of confirming stories from their "sources."

maybe you are right:rolleyes:

an interesting "conspiracy" is that maybe most ESPN insiders were at a consensus that lebron is going to chi and same with alot of the public so they made this story up to cause suspense or what not...

God am I going to be glad when this is all over. Regardless of whether or not we get Lebron, I just want this to be over.

I'm guessing that the writers need to get a story up, so they make a false story just to sell papers. I'm talking in general of all the false reports we've been hearing

The thing about this is that they obviously trusted their sources enough to run with the story though. Youd think this was based on past experience. Its also possible it was just made up for ratings.

Didnt read the thread but after talking to my friend in Heat ticket sales and some of my friends looking to buy tickets, i think its all about making money. Various teams are having people leak false intel and fans are eating it up. $160k in ticket sales since the LeBosh to Miami rumor and thats just my one friends sales. Ridiculous. This is a marketing scheme IM but i still think theres going to be movement of players.

I believe it did happen, but reports are coming out denying it due to tampering obligations. That is my opinion for all this.

A couple buddies and I were thinking of getting tickets in hopes of Lebron coming, thinking they would have great resale value. Talked to a ticket rep and he said ticket prices will be raised on July 1. No matter who they sign.

Every Free Agency period after 2010 is going to be so boring, and unhypeful. Lol, its been fun, can't wait til its over already though.
