Personally I use to have a lot of disdain towards Favre when he was doing well against us. Now that he sucks against us, I haven't had a problem with him the past 4-5 seasons because we smash his teeth in every time.

He's one of the greatest QB's to ever play the game and he epitomizes toughness. But then people think it's acceptable for a middle linebacker to miss an entire season because of a broken wrist that he probably injured masturbating to himself in the mirror.

It boils down to the Bears/Packers rivalry. The fact we had to deal with Farve every year, easily got under the skin. I got respect for the guy, dont get me wrong, but rather tired of that name. Whether because of the Packers, or the last few years of the retirement drama shit.

If the Bears didn't suck as much as they do every season I'm sure you would feel differently. Maybe it's jealousy because since Favre became the QB of the Packers the Bears have had at least 25 different starters. But Bears fans always want to make these average QB's like Cutler out to be elite. Or they could be elite if only....

I'm glad Favre has kept coming back and I will miss watching him play because I love football. But people around here love Aaron Rodgers so it doesn't quite make sense to me.

Urlacher is a wimp. Lots of players play with a lot of broken things including Favre who has a broken foot. More excuses. Excuses all the time. Maybe if he didn't talk so much shit and never back it up I'd feel differently. Mike Singletary was a far better middle linebacker and never talked shit.

23 starters.

Urlacher is a wimp how? He played with plenty of injuries the year before. They made him sit last year because the slightest further injury could of shattered the nerve in his wrist and cut off the use of his hand? You want to put that player out there? That's Special person and Mike Singletary isn't a better linebacker, he was a better defensive leader but not a better player. Dan Hampton was the true greatest force on that defense that made it all work.

Lance Briggs is the true defensive star on this team. Urlacher has been whining for years about his back and this and that.

I don't like players that talk shit. Not to former teammates who are in the Hall of Fame and not to anybody else.

It has nothing to do with his ability, and Briggs talks smack as well. I don't think Urlacher was whining very much about his injuries, other people were about him and he still was playing better than average in the league.

Briggs is not the leader nor playmaker, Briggs is great and key but his contributions are far less in the passing game and more just run stuffing like the Singletary role was. Urlacher's contributions are on a larger scale.

I hate Favre because he's an ecotistical douchebag who doesn't show up for training camp and has no regards to his teammates off the field. Also, I hate any player for the Packers. Period.

You gotta love Matt Flynn though. It's not as if he's gonna play.

You're an old school guy, and I get that. For the most part, I try to see your point of view.

But I can't let you off the hook for saying something that is completely out of line.

That injury could have ended his career if not properly taken care of. Don't take my word for it, here's a story from the Trib during last season:

The 31-year-old Bears linebacker figured his right wrist was just jammed when he rolled to the ground after a first-quarter tackle of Packers running back Ryan Grant.

That is why Urlacher kept playing with the pain until halftime, when it was discovered he dislocated his lunate bone -- one of the eight bones of the wrist and one of the most crucial in terms of the overall function of the arm and hand. The dislocation caused friction against a nerve, killing the nerve and thus causing loss of feeling in the fingers and thumb.

"The first thing the doctors told me was that this was the worst possible thing you could do to your wrist," Urlacher told the Tribune Saturday. "They said it could be career-ending for guys who don't take time to rehab it and guys who try to rush it."

Yeah, what a pussy.

I dont know how anyone could really point to one person and say theyre the best on a Team sport. If everyone is doing their role, it shows in the results. Each one plays a vital role in the system, and from Briggs, to Urlacher, to Peppers and even Moore and Tillman. Sure we fans to 'crown' certain players on a Team, but they aint worth shit if others around them are useless. Look at Manning. How many picks this year already? 11 in a short span? But they still 'crown' his ass and slam Cutler in same scenario

Well, that's easy. Walter Payton is the best, ever. End of story.

And why would anyone want to put a great player in and risk further injury? Urlachers got plenty of years left with us. And he is a force that offenses have to plan against. Hes the best at his position on our team, and without him, look at the results last year. I rather have him sit out and heal so he can continue to be a valuable asset to us for years to come than risk losing him for good. Thats my opinion tho...

For the Bears, yes... At halfback. Took 10 others still at the end of the day on that field with him.

I think the thing that people look for is players that make their teammates better. Look at all the no-name receivers that have turned into studs because they had an awesome QB throwing to them. (The Colts and Patriots are full of these guys in the last decade). On the other end of that, remember when Randy Moss single-handedly made Daunte Culpepper a Pro Bowl QB? Players like that.
