Rumors out there saying Pominville may be cleared to play by Friday. No word on Bolland or Emery from what I have seen.
Thought the Wild did a real nice job at clogging up the slot and blocking shots (I believe 20+ shot blocks). Blackhawks will have to do a better job at getting the puck to the net and getting those second and third chances. Good thing with all the traffic, is if the Blackhawks do get the puck through, good things will usually come of it.
Too much Edzo in that post.
Hawks need to play their game. The Wild cant keep up.

That's the issue though. What the Wild did was similar to what the Coyotes did last year to the Blackhawks. They clogged things up and disrupted the flow of the Blackhawks game. I wouldn't mind to see a little more dump and run where the Blackhawks can use their speed, and then their skill once the puck is obtained. In the end, this Wild team isn't as good as the Coyotes were last year and this Blackhawks team is better. Blackhawks seemed to adjust a little after the 1 period - thank god.
Harding seemed to be fighting off a lot of pucks last night. Still got the job done and I would expect him to play Friday, but some traffic with a couple of pucks with eyes would go a long way.
To Hardings defense he didn't play for two months and was called in on the spot. He pitched a great game and deserves all the credit in the world stopping a sluggish Hawks team that obviously wasn't up to play yet still won. The Wild are not the Yotes of last year, the Yotes brutalized the Hawks physically while I think for the first time this year the Hawks actually out hit somebody last night. Theres a ton more skill on the Wild who have adapted their make shift trap which the Hawks have now found a way around. Most of the game was played in the Wild Zone while it was the opposite last year. Yotes forchecked the defense aggressively while outside of maybe five minutes in the first the Hawks D didn't have no issues passing the puck.

I wasn't trying to knock Harding, I'm a big fan of his and think he is an inspiration. He fought off a lot of pucks though where he just got a piece of them instead of the whole thing. They didn't hurt the Wild last night, but if the Blackhawks get a few more shots through the traffic, I have to think that only good things will come of them.
You are correct that the Wild and Yotes play two different styles, but what they both did was clog up the middle of the ice and the slot. Wild did that last night with their trap and the Blackhawks adjusted. The Blackhawks weren't able to adjust (not as good of a team and played against a better team than the Wild had something to do with it) last year.
I fully expect the Blackhawks to come out fired up on Friday.
You are forgetting how the Yotes forchecked relentlessly last year.
You are also talking about clogging up the middle of the ice.....every team does that.
(shakes head)

Talking about clogging up the middle and the slot, hence all the blocked shots. Not every team runs a make shift trap as you said. Not concerned with how the Yotes forechecked, yes it was relentless and more so than the Wild, but in me comparing the two teams it had to do with them clogging up the Blackhawks skating and not allowing the flow or a track meet to happen. Going at apples and oranges here, so I'm okay to agree to disagree to a certain extent.
Why Obama?^ blame the Bulls and their playoff series for the long wait
Thanks Obama.
Makes zero sense not to play this tonight.
^ blame the Bulls and their playoff series for the long wait
Thanks Obama.
they wont go deep so this issue will be resolved soon.
Way too long of a wait for the next game :smh:
