This city is better off with the Bulls playing the Heat with a healthy Rose then it ever will be with a Cup winning Hawks.

The Hawks are just a product right now of an injured Derrick Rose. They don't hit the huge ratings they hit this year if Rose is playing, and those ratings are a bit shaking considering the Hawks never drew huge numbers until Toews and Kane came in.

I will always forever question who came up with the two million number the Hawks Cup parade supposedly reached when the actual number was closer to 400K.

Martini, what exactly are you smoking? The Hawks weren't on TV for years due to Dollar Bill. When he died and Rocky took over, he started putting the games back on TV. The club also got a lot better due to guys like Toews, Kane, Sharp, Keith, Seabrook, Campbell and Hossa. They now sell out the UC every night. They also get great ratings because people in Chicago love their hockey and watch since it is actually on.

I really could give two fucks about the NBA, although I did - even post Jordan - for awhile. There is no parity in the NBA. It is a "top 3 superstar" league, Lebron is a top 5 player of all time and the Bulls have a slight prayer of a chance for the next 5 years with Rose.... They aren't going anywhere this year.

Meanwhile, the more skilled, team-oriented sport has a Hawks team looking amazing and with a bright 4+ year future.

Well, if it was 20 years ago and the name he was mentioning was Michael Jordan.....Martini's point would have some merit. Apparently, he thinks Rose is that kind of a player...unfortunately, while he's a very good player, he's no Michael Jordan. He's not even close. Michael Jordan was a once-in-a-lifetime Chicago treasure.
