I'm the stupid one yet not one of you have stepped up and proven me wrong. Hell I even had to explain what " holding on to the ball to long " means and still none of you can come back at me with any thing but insults. You might want to reassess the meaning of stupid because it applies to you far more than it does to me .

Prove it.

How is Jay not at all responsible for his money? Before the extension he went on the radio and said he wasn't, and I quote, "going to break the bank" and that "he cared about winning" blah blah BULLSHIT blah blah etc etc. So what'd him and his agent do? They broke the bank. **** him.

Were you in on the meetings when he got his money?

Think of you wanting a $1 an hour raise, going to your boss, and him telling you that he was going to double your salary: would you tell him you only want the $1 an hour raise or would you take the double money (assuming you make over $1 an hour)?

It is possible that Emery set the contract total and Cutler and his agent laughed all the way to the bank. The thing is, you don't know what happened.

It's quite a risk for a number one overall pick when you have so many other holes. The Bears would be better off trading down that pick.

What I find funny is that basically after every draft after Luck was drafted #1 people are saying that the QBs in the current draft are not worth being drafted then they talk about this amazing QB who will be available in the following draft. Then the next draft comes around and they say ... that the QBs in the current draft are not worth being drafted then they talk about this amazing QB who will be available in the following draft. Rinse and repeat.

You have to get it into your head that the most important position on the team is the QB, even if he has a high chance of being a bust.

Consider this, Watt is the best defensive player in the NFL right now while Rodgers can be considered the best at QB: how many wins does Watt contribute to his team versus how many does Rodgers (compared to replacement)? Watt maybe 1 or 2 while Rodgers probably 8 or more.

So if the Bears have the #1 pick, Goff is a no brainer because, though his isn't a Rodgers, he will have a greater impact than the top defensive player who won't make a Watt type difference either.

Moreover; you don't know if the Bears will be bad enough to get the top spot again in the future so when the next Andrew Luck comes out, the Bears probably won't be in a position to draft him.

By the way, some scouts have called Jared Goff the best QB coming out of college since Andrew Luck.

Then why did you even reply to me with your ridiculously ignorant Cutler comment ? A Freudian Slip maybe ?

No, he was right.

You were talking about it being stupid for the Bears to draft a QB because the stupid fans would boo him and destroy his confidence.

He said that Cutler is 30+, not a rookie, paid a ton, and should be able to handle booing if he doesn't perform well.

He performed just fine last week and I heard on my TV boos when he walked into the locker room. My friends were there and said people were cheering and excited to see what Clausen would bring.

Stop being obtuse. The issues on the Bears do not begin and end with Jay Cutler. Bears fans are really dumb and simple minded, so they find the easiest position to watch and blame everything on that. Whatever. There is a reason this team hasn't won shit in 30 years.

This is what you guys get. Any moron fan who cheered his injury last week should go back to watching the Blackhawks and jumping that bandwagon.

The bears were competitive and in the game the past 2 weeks. Now that 6 is out, this is what the Bears look like.

Hopefully everyone wakes up and realizes he's a good qb. Dude was on fire last week til Marty ran that route.

Yes IM PISSED. Maybe some people will wake the **** up about cutler being the problem.

The defense held its own earlier in the game. They could've won. Now look.

When Cutler is playing, the offense is averaging 51.1 yards (#1 in the NFL) and 3.1 points/drive. With Clausen, they're averaging 12.6 yards (#32 in the NFL) and 0.4 points/drive
Thanks for providing us with the small sample size

AND

Thanks for making this Cutler vs Clausen, when really, no one is arguing that.

How do you come to this conclusion?

Initially during the beginning of his Bears career, Cutler had no competent WRs nor did he have a NFL caliber Offensive Line.

Once he was finally given a competent receiving corp and a NFL caliber Offensive Line, his team fielded some of the worst defenses in Bears history.

That's why he was never the problem.

So what you're saying is he's not really good at playing the quarterback position.

That's a problem

How did it backfire?

Jays just an average QB.

not a ton of people should argue with that. But he's an average starting QB, not an average backup QB. an actual rea; QB, and without an actual real verifiable QB of equal or greater value in the hand, moving on from Cutler is dumb, and if Pace does it soon, he won't be around long.
