This is it for me. I cannot ever remember being so disgusted with a team or its organization more than this year and I have witnessed some really fucked up Bear teams through their history. This team is fucking pathetic and so damn disjointed that it is unbelievable. And for the last 12 years I have listened to Bears fans talking about how the problem was the LAST coaching staff and GM. It has gone on like forever. Bears fans trusting Bears management of bringing in a new football organization. I am sick of it. I am damn depressed as a Bears fan. I trust no one in this organization knows anything about what it takes to being a first class organization. No one. It is the McCaskey family and its top guys. There is no damn future for this team as long as these guys are in control.

Clearly you weren't around or don't remember the 4 year strech from 97-2000 or the 3 year bid from 02-04. 7 of those 8 years, the Bears were atrocious.

2001 and 2002 were bizarre. An 8-8 talent team where everything went right won 13, then everything went wrong and they won 4. 2002 was one of the most disappointing for me.

Did anyone seriously think the team wouldn't be shit this year? Saddled with some awful contracts eating massive cap space, a virtually bare cupboard as far as young talent (Long, Alshon, McPhee I guess, and maybe some of the D-line guys excluded [and I'm not talking about rookies]), a complete change in defensive scheme, a GM and coaching staff brought in for the purpose of a complete tear-down/rebuild...need I go on?

You seem to be the only person that was blindsided by this. This is what happens when teams are in full rebuild mode; and you should expect absolute shit for a while as the organization purges the mistakes of the past and replaces it with players they think can be built around. It is truly baffling how completely unaware of the realities of the NFL some fans can be.

Nah. At least the Bears are going full bad mode and hopefully get a franchise QB. Being bad enough to get the third or fourth best QB is worst. No shot to get better.

I'm feeling the opposite of the OP. I think for the first time in a long time we are doing things right. This is a rebuild year so as long as we don't go 0-16 I won't be disappointed by our record. The owners have showed balls cleaning house and for the first time brought in coaches with experience. We may even end up with a franchise QB when this year is over. 8-8 would Special person our rebuild. We have talent on offense for a rookie QB to work with next year. Only 2 things would ruin this season for me. 1. We go 0-16 2. GB wins it all.

Anybody else remember the 70s Bear teams?

Last year was the worst just recently because the coach had clearly lost the team.

I fully expected this.

I really felt they had a chance the year Cutler ended up getting his hand stepped on against the Chargers. They were on fire goin into 4 games against a weak AFC west. That was the worst season for me.

Last year was really bad, though.

Last year was way worse, because I had expectations.

This season I knew they were going to be bad. It still sucks, but at least I am not getting blind sided.

Not surprised this year. Expected them to be bad.
