Would you buy a CD for $5? (Please read, it'll help me out)

Ok so I'm going to be printing 1,000 of my CDs this month and I'm gonna be visiting random colleges, areas, etc. to try and sell them. Basically I'll be spending around $850 for these. I also bought 2000 stickers for around $100. 1 Sticker will be included in the CD (EVERYONE loves stickers and they're nice sized stickers, 3x3). So the total is $950 that I have spent.

Keep in mind: these CDs come in a nice sleeve with artwork on the front and back, and the CD has the artwork screen printed on it as well. So these are nice CDs, not blank CD garbage.

So with that in mind, how much should I charge for these? $5 being the max since no one knows my music and they're taking a chance on it. Even if I sell these for $1, I'm still making a profit. I'm not worried about profit as much as I am about people spreading my music. $1 is too cheap IMO. I've been thinking about intrinsic value. If you got a CD for free, you'd probably think, "Ok this guy probably sucks." and then you'd throw it away. If you buy it for $1, you might think the same thing. $5 might be a little hefty. How much would YOU buy a CD for, from a kid who just came up to you asking you to buy his? I was thinking $3 might be a good price. Not too much, not too little. Right in the middle.

If you bought a CD from a kid for $3-$5 would you give it a real listen? or did you just buy it to get him off your back?

Any insight would really help me out, thanks guys.

I honestly probably wouldn't but a CD from anyone is they asked me haha. I mean, maybe if they were playing live and I liked what I heard and they had their CD's there for sale.

If I did buy the CD, I probably would give it a listen or else it would just be a waste of money.

3-5 bucks seems okay. Obviously, the lower the price, the higher the chance of selling.

I think I'll go with $3 and if no one buys it, I'll just lower it. Thanks for responding.

I am not.
I'm a big fan of hip-hop and would probably spend 5 bucks just to support a rapper that's out trying to promote himself (as long as there wasn't a dozen others around him trying to do the same thing lol)

but I know most people aren't like me and you're probably gonna have a very hard time selling these to people that can't even hear you perform. Definitely don't go higher than 3 bucks.

I don't like your music but support your right to make it. Now get off my lawn as I don't appreciate that.
