Justin Fields have a great season but the bears be one of the worst teams in the league

Or

The bears make the playoffs this year but Fields plays poorly?

Add your own scenario if you like

Scenario #1 Fields having a great season because it will then set up the Bears long term.

Scenario #2 we have seen before.........Fluke season with average QB play.

I would hope every Bears fan chooses scenario #1. That’s the only way this franchise can become a consistent playoff team. Mostly everyone expects a losing season and there’s nothing wrong with that. Fields and the young guys needs to improve and be the future core of the team.

Of course #1. But I doubt if Fields takes that kind of step that the team will be trash. We would be a boarder line playoff team,,at worst

I'm still mind=blown the 8-8 2020 Bears backed into the playoffs

and Trubisky being Nickelodeon player of the century holds any water at all in the real world

This is the year we find out what Trubisky really is......you fail in that Pittsburgh system, you are pretty much shit. Big Ben could hardly stand up, his arm strength mostly gone, a piss poor line and was pretty much a statue in the pocket.....still had a QB rating of like 87. Which is Trubisky's lifetime rating average.

Of those two options, I would go for the first option that Fields plays great and is the franchise qb for years to come.

In the other scenario, they are likely 1 and done anyway after somehow backing their way into the playoffs again. No interest in that again.

However, I would say that if Fields has a great season, then I find it hard to believe the Bears would be one of the worst teams in the league - instead that is likely the only way they sneak into the playoffs is for Fields to have that great season.

Option 2.

You can move on easily from bad QBs. Mediocre QBs tend to get overpaid and burden the franchise (see Derek Carr at 40/million annually).

4,000 yards, 30 td's is the end game

everything else will fall into place

Option 1. I like the long term potential of having a stud QB with 3 years of rookie contract left over a 1 hit wonder team sneaking in to the expanded playoffs with an 8-9 record because the bottom falls off of the NFC after 5-6 teams. Fields becoming elite in '22 means a lot more for the teams success in '23 and onwards than a 2020 repeat.

#1 for me. Knowing we finally have a QB and come away with a high draft pick? Yes please. I'd definitely sacrifice one season of moderate success for that scenario.

What do you consider that kind of step? Because you thought DeShaun Watson was bad in 2020 after having 4800 yards, 33 TDs, 7INTs, 100+QB rating, 70 completion % and at one point that season had the highest career QB rating of all time. They won 4 games.

I'll tell you, you aren't really a Bears fan but you sure do spew bullshit with the best of them.

#3. Fields goes beast mode and the Bears win.. Bears are due for one of the fluke bears year ala 2001, 2005, 2018.. 2022!!!!. Poles will then get cute in the draft and drop 50 bags on overpaid scrubs in FA for a 23 Sb run...... the bears will then be the sub par shitty bears the next 3-5. New HC then GM ...Rinse, repeat....

I just see a sector of ppl. still coming down on JF if we don't make playoffs and he has a "good stats season". Some ppl here are gonna question JF regardless, unless he wins a SB. At this point, I just wanna see him properly developed. Go Bears
