IMO you have to listen to any offer. If its too good to turn down there are very few players that are indispensable.

The only player that is unmovable is Toews in my book.

Maybe the St. Louis Cardinals will offer Albert Pujols for him... Then we flip him to the Cubs for some cash.

I agree that Toews is definitely unmovable. The C on his chest should have him in Chicago for his entire career (which could be another 15 years ... crazy to think about).

But the reason why I'd also throw Keith, Kane, Sharp, and Hossa into that "unmovable" category is because of what a few have already mentioned: you're not going to get equal return value for any of those players, IMO. They're just too good.

Right. because it is just about a few pictures. i dont know how many games you go to, but if you were to be able to see everything on the ice (stuff camera doesnt show) you would see the real lackluster kane every single shift.
ok, so we want to bring up pics of supposed brown bag flu, pics with chicks in bed, limo rides, beating up cab drivers..etc....lets forget about all that and just say that he likes to party.

HERES the problem: Alot of athletes like to party, when it interferes with your play it needs to be brought up. Just like in REAL life work. I see people who party their asses off all night and still do their job great, while others cant. Kane is in the latter.

Kane is not a top 10 player in the NHL, and probably never will be.

This is the part that I don't get. I haven't seen much of this lackluster effort that you're talking about, honestly.

Does Kane not always backcheck as hard as he should? Absolutely. But Kane's always been more of an offensive guy. His defensive skills leave something to be desired, but that's why he's a winger and not a center. On the outside his primary concern is offense. And as long as he's in front of the other team's point men when the Hawks are on D, then I really don't care.

He may never be a top 10 player because he's too one-sided, but I'll put him at least in the top 10 in terms of playmaking (not the same as scoring) ability, and maybe even higher.

And you also say that "right, it is just about a few pictures," which I detected as sarcasm, and correct me if I misunderstood ... but then you go and make a point in your last paragraph that's related to those pictures. I don't get that.

What I don't like about offense only players is that back checking requires simply skating hard. I don't blame Kane for getting beat in the Hawks zone because he is not an imposing player but back checking is different. All you have to do is skate hard and steal the puck. Hossa does this almost every shift.

What's the point? Is it worth it? NO

He is the co-owner of the "face of the franchise" title. Marketed huge in Chicago and the hockey world. How often do you hear "Toews and Kane".

Hat-trick in Game six of 2008/09 Semis

Game-Tying goal in Game 5 vs Nashville (without that goal we might not have the cup)

Stanley Cup Winning goal (without that goal we might not have won the cup)

Yes, but most likely won't happen.

I'd like a guy who plays 2 ways, Kaner doesn't.
