Releasing Silva wasn't a mistake. He didn't want to be here. And I'll stand by that even if Z, Dempster, and Garza get hurt at the same time and Shark is forced to start. Because even though Shark sucks, at least he has the right attitude about being there.

And yeah, even before now when we could really, really, use him, I thought moving Gorzo was a bad idea because he was one of the few remaining good lefties in the pen that could also start.

The Cubs still have their 1-3 starters in tact for now, and Coleman isn't a bad option to bring up. It'll just be interesting to see who gets put in the 5 spot.

im not a supporter of silva myself either. just saying now it looks dumb to have released him, or him thinking there was no chance of going back to the rotation due to an injury.

can you not read?

I said now it looks stupid because there are injuries. if they dont get hurt it doesnt look stupid. (BESIDES THE MONEY)

And I also stated it looks stupid on silvas part to ***** about the competition or lack there of and being an ass when pitchers tend to get hurt and a back up starter always has a chance to get back into the rotation due to injury. jesus

More importantly, can you read?

My response was that the Cubs look stupid for releasing him now that after 5 games we have 2 SP injuries. It's rather ironic.

And yes, it also makes Silva look ridiculous because he flipped a shit about not getting into the rotation with no thought to injuries.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  2. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Fire
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Chicago State Cougars
  2. DePaul Blue Demons
  3. Illinois-Chicago Flames
  4. Loyola Ramblers
  5. Northern Illinois Huskies
  6. Northwestern Wildcats
Saw this at school. Really bad. If it is just 2 weeks though, that means 2 or 3 starts a piece, but they also probably have to rehab after the 2 weeks, as the Cubs.com article said that they wouldn't pick up a ball for 2 weeks.

Releasing him makes sense.

Gives him more time to eat at his local burrito station.

This is why we shouldn't have gotten rid of Gorzo. I miss that goofy looking bastard more and more each day.
That's the first thing I thought too. Well, right after I thought "this fucking sucks".

Nothing could happen to this team that would make me regret cutting Silva.

This sucks, a lot.
They'll both will probably be back in May IMO. Just because Cashner and Wells are hurt doesn't mean that releasing Silva was a bad move. He was pretty awful in the 2nd half of last season and he didn't pitch any better in ST when his job was on the line. And even if they had kept him and put him in the bullpen, what if he pitched just as bad as he did in ST?

I do think that trading Gorzelanny was a bad move though.

Wells will be back before May...Cash's injury being rotator cuff related scares me.

Maybe. A friend of mine wants Carpenter.

If Jeff or Russell is move to the SP. Yes, I can see that but I don't want that to happen because that's worse than the news. JJ would be fine with me. I like giving young kids chances.

Whats wrong with Carpenter?

I would rather Samardjiza start than Russell.
