Tell that to the US Government. My dads good friend emigrated from ireland in the mid 60's, joined the Army was promised citizenship upon completion of his tour. They wouldnt give it to him and guess what? i hope you like the jungle because you are gonna be here another year! He didnt become a citizen until the early 90's out of spite.



A buddy from work spent 4 years strait in Iraq in the Army, and still he had to jump through hoops for his citizenship (He is Syrian, and no not a muslim). The desire from that guy was obvious other than his time in Iraq, he would prod me for the proper way certain phrases are supposed to be used in english.

My neighbor spent two tours in Iraq ,he's Albainian , he was in the marine reserve. He did not become a US citizen until 6 months after he got back the 2nd time. He still had to take a test. He was trying for several years before to be a US citizen and the red tape was terrible.
