Is it just me or are they trying a little bit too hard to like remind the audience that this is X-Files in 2016?

I mean I know alot about the world has changed, especially technology, but the writers seem to need to remind you like 2-3 times an episode that "OMG DIS IS X-FILES IN 2016!"

While I'm a huge X-Files fan...I didn't care too much for #3 of the reboot. Kind of a Twilight Zone thing where the monster isn't killing anyone...the humans are. Regardless, it didn't work....hoping for better things in the last 3. BTW, anyone catch the Carl Kolchak (The Night Stalker) outfit worn by the Lizard Man?

I am a bit surprised... the first episode was much what I expected, but the last 4 have been sort of just fluff episodes, they were enjoyable, but for a 6 episode "mini-series" kind of thing I figured each episode would drive a larger story arc of some sort. I figured after the first episode it would all have to do with the government conspiracy stuff and maybe involving Mulder/Scully's son.

Lol episode 6 will be about Bigfoot and end with Mulder and Scully taking a selfie.
