Looking ahead to 2011-12: Ranking the NHL’s top goaltenders - Puck Daddy - NHL

18. Corey Crawford, Chicago Blackhawks: It's not often that a rookie takes over starting duties for the defending Cup champions, but Crawford performed admirably and nearly rallied the 'Hawks past the Canucks in the first round of the playoffs.

And of course..

12. Antti Niemi
, San Jose Sharks: Started slowly, but was dominant during the Sharks' red-hot second half and playoff run to the Western Conference final.

Thomas obviously # 1 and Rinne in the #2 slot (I completely agree... I think he's amazing). The bit about Niemi having a hot playoff run is bogus- he was not good in the playoffs.

I think a full season as the number 1 guy will get Crawford a bit more respect.

There's 30 teams, right? Those 5 they left off- they must really be bad....

Edit- nm - I thought it said 'starting goalies' - not just goalies in general.

Yeah, the missing 5 are explained in the intro.

I however forgot to post this gem:

6. Roberto Luongo, Vancouver Canucks: Rocky performance in Cup final stings, but he's still a Grade-A goalie on a Grade-A team.

That is incredible.

Yeah, I thoght Howard should be ahead of Backstrom. Oh well pretty solid rankings though. Are we doing a fantasy league here?

I agree, We should make an announcement that one will be happening. That way after it starts people cant complain they didn't have the time to sign up for it or whatever else was complained about for the baseball one

When did this guy do this list? Some of those goalies are laughably over rated. Headcase Luongo? Are you kidding me? I wouldnt want him if they gave him to me......he's not even the best goalie on his team.

Luongo is a ***** and a headcase and if you can slip one cheeky goal past him he goes mental and falls apart. I wouldn't take that guy for free.

And he fricking cried on national television. That alone makes him a Nancy who should be in Icecapades instead of the NHL.
