They have a sandwich at Arbies today that is a venison steak on a bun and it's only available today so if you like the sound of that and want to try something different or new and interesting to your palate they have a limited supply (my local arbies manager said you can only get two per order or visit while supplies last so I will try to go thru the drive thru and also go inside as well to hopefully get 4 deer burgers in total so I have one for myself, my room-mate, my mom and her boyfriend if he is around for lunch otherwise I'll split the extra one with my mom)

They tried this before but ran out really early and only offered it in certain marketplaces but this time is a nationwide rollout so it's gonna be big!

Deer meat from a fast food chain seems sketchy. Do you know what you are actually eating? It's mystery meat.

Venison is gross, it's so gamy tasting. I practically grew up on it. During deer season it was practically something made out of deer meat every night. I'd be interested to see what you guys thought of it.

It's not a mystery it's venison which is a fancy word for deer meat, and I read in a article that it is deer meat that was raised in New Zealand so they even solved the mystery of where it came from. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Yeah, why are they bringing it all the way from New Zealand?

I did read up on it a bit and it does seem legit, but I'll pass. Plenty of fresh deer meat to go around in my neck of the woods although I don't eat it a ton because it gets old. Deer jerky is fantastic though.

Arby’s to sell deer sandwiches nationwide for one day onlyCONSTANCE GIBBS*OCT 12, 2017 4:07 PM

Arby’s is on a mission to have all the meats.

The purveyor of fast food roast beef sandwiches is expanding its menu nationwide for one day only. In what looks like is becoming an annual Arby’s tradition, the chain will re-release their*venison burger*nationwide — which they debuted last fall — while also testing elk sandwiches in three states.

On Saturday, Oct. 21, which is towards the beginning of deer hunting season in many states, Arby’s will be selling venison burgers in all 3,300 restaurants across the country. The chain did this last year for nearly a month-long period in six states and it was a big hit — some locations sold out within 15 minutes.

The sandwich features a thick slab of venison steak with crispy onions and a juniper berry cabernet sauce on a toasted roll.

This year, the company took greater pains to secure enough meat to last a little longer than 15 minutes, but with the ever-present caveat that “quantities are limited.”

Chief Marketing Officer Jim Taylor told*USA Today, “If people are interested in trying the sandwich, the only way to guarantee they can get one is to get there when we open or a little before and make sure they are in line, just like the folks last year."

Taylor told USA Today that production to get enough venison product from New Zealand suppliers took a year.

In select locations in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana, Arby’s will sell elk sandwiches — a popular hunting species in those states. The elk sandwich will be topped with blackberry port sauce and crispy onions.

Venison is great, but only once in a while and not sure Arby's can do it right. Venison done wrong is traumatic.

I used to like Angus beef, then they sold out and started doing these sketchy cheap practices. Angus burgers from BK in 2002 were surprisingly good(This was before investors bought the name and gradually made every burger taste like it came out of a vending machine, opposed to just a few, , after all, it's still fast food) . Angus burgers from McDonalds in 2006 were really awful. Arbys meats are considerably cheaper versions of choice meats, so I like this analogy. Therefore I'm really not interested in ruining venison for the few times I do eat it.

I'll eat a Beef and Cheddar, not because it tastes like a beef or tastes like cheddar, but because whatever shitpile source of foods combine to make something good on it's own. In my opinion at least.

The last time I ate at Arbies was, who knows? But it definitely tasted mysterious, venison or not.

To the OP try ordering 2 doubles or triples to get around the one per customer limitation.

So Vash, how was the venison from New Zealand. I would like a report from your roommate, mom and mom's BF as well. What kind of dipping sauce did you use?

I like to make jerky from it.

Their Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich was fantastic-I haven’t had one in over a decade though, so I don’t know if it held, or went down hill.
