I know. If the Sox had a farm system, they could do better than Youk & trade for Headley.

Back to back years of under 800 OPS. He hasn't been an impact player for three years now. Bringing him back makes sense because the rest of the (plausible) options at 3B are even worse, but expecting anything more than a decent OBP out of him at this point is probably too much.

nothing wrong with that being that morel is our other option. I have no issues with a OBP player in the 2 hole.

All depends on the price, and as I said he probably is the best option since trading for Headley isn't really plausible. But it seems pretty clear that Youkilis isn't the player he was in his peak seasons from 29-31.

Youk said whoever he signs with it'll be through his family.

Maybe he goes back home to play for the Reds?

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Toledo Rockets
If he can repeat his numbers with the White Sox for two more seasons, I would take it.

.340ish OBP, 15 HR, 100+ OPS, and an okay glove.

That is fine by me. Its not the Youk of the past, but, its better than anything else we'd get.

I was wrong on Youk. (Admitting it again as some that post here often keep missing that fact.) And I know some of you hate teh word "clutch," but that is exactly what Youk was during the first 60% or so of his tenure here with us. He hit when it really counted and was very productive. He tailed off a lot the last 40% but I wouldn't be upset at all with rolling the dice again on Youk on a two year deal as long as the per average doesn't cross $8 million per
