Bolland: 5 goals, 2 assists, -1
Kruger: 3 goals, 3 assists, +1

One is making 3.3 mil while the other is making 900K.

Time for Bolly to take a hike in the summer when Kruger can produce the same numbers for less money.

1. Sample Size
2. 0.9 vs. 0.7 PS, not the same.
3. Don't need to get rid of him when we can get down to the new cap by waiving Olesz and Montador. This team doesn't have a glaring need right now, so a little early to call for dumping him for the sake of dumping him, better to have both than just Kruger.

Agreed. What's the deal with bitching about anyone when the team is 11-0-3? I think Bolland is a very important piece of the puzzle....for his 3.3 mil, he can play 2C, 3C, 4C, PK and PP. Plus, if needed, he'll help shut down an opponent's star offensive player. I believe, if you asked anyone in the Hawk's organization....they'd tell you he's well worth that price point.

Foolish solely looking at numbers to justify Bolland's insignificance to the team.

Bolland's contract is up in the summer of 2014, so the possibility that he could be shopped this summer is very real.

Been very impressed with Kruger, but he needs to show me something in the postseason before I declare him ready to take Bolland's spot on this team. Kruger has a whopping ONE point in his 11 career playoff games.

I don't think I need to go into too much detail about what Bolland does for the Hawks in the postseason.

I think Bolland is one of the best 3c in the game. He knows his role and he does it very well there; I think he gets away from the game he is best at when playing 2c. Personally, he hasn't shown much over the last 10 games that says he should be the 2c though. I think down the line a Kruger at 2c and Bolland at 3c will be seen. Kruger is looking very confident with the puck and showing vision that Kane/Sharp could actually benefit from. It isn't all about points, but if you play between Sharp/Kane you need to help those guys out in some way and I'm not seeing it out of Bolland.

My obvious affinity for Bolland aside, I'm curious as to your opinion on this.

I'm unsure if you curious as to why I used the word insignificance (since it's bolded) or how I feel about Bolly?

I'm guessing that you feel he's insignificant to the team, since that was what you typed. I'm just curious as to why you feel that way.

Nosuh. I used that word because that was Serious's position to which he narrow-mindedly focused (my point) on Bolly's point numbers to diminish his significance. I'm fine with Bolland...because of his postseason prowess. I don't want President Cups.

Davey Boy a -3 tonight.

Time to dump this overrated bum in the summer & let Kruger replace him as the #3 center.

Joe does have a good point with Bolland though, even if brought up in the wrong context. There is not much need for Bolland in the line-up when you have Kruger out there, IF the Hawks can get a legitimate second line center. At this point I think I can say that Kruger might be the better player, and a cheaper one salary cap wise as well. IF Bolland can stay healthy, he would definitely be a good trade option that I am sure some team would like to have.

Said it before and saying it again: not til Kruger proves he can be productive in the playoffs. He has not done that yet. Until then, I won't be convinced Bolland is expendable.

Hopefully next season the Hawks top four centers are this:

Toews
Legit #2 Center (via trade)
Kruger
Chipchura or Boyd Gordon (or someone else via trade)
