wouldn't it be more fun as a bears fan to be optimistic and excited to look for the improvements instead of ...oh lord they suck and they will always suck kindas attitude? in this case omg they are gonna not suck enough? lol seems silly and not a fun way to be a fan imo. not judging here just curious and discussing

Sorry man, Cutler has sapped pretty much all the joy out of the Bears for me. I will be rejuvenated when he's finally gone.

The Bears will go 6-10 and I will be happy because the rebuild would have begun.

This season is about watching young players and how our coaches use young inexperienced players and get the most out of them.

Reasonable expectations are key to enjoying a season.

Part of me hopes that the Bears go 2-14.

That way they can get the best QB in the draft and can hopefully solve this lack of a franchise QB.

Ditto. If they're not making the playoffs then this is what I want. Unless 2016 turns out to be a much deeper QB class and there's still a legit franchise prospect at 7-10, in which case 5 or 6 wins is fine. Whatever. Just get a QB already.

Take the medicine of a brutal season to heal the wounds.

It would be awful, but maybe it finally allows the Bears to consistently compete.

5-11 or 6-10. If the stars align, the ceiling is 8-8 but highly unlikely.

Our glaring #1 problem entering last season is still our #1 weakness entering 2015: back 7 on D (or back 8 depending on scheme). I believed last year we had the worst LBs/secondary in the league, and we are still bottom-5 in the NFL in that area - with or without Fangio - because our personnel sucks, even when eliminating the Tucker factor.

At QB we are in the bottom half of the league, but that's a lofty standing compared to our shite LBs/CBs/FS & SS.

We must be long lost twins because I almost always agree with what you post regarding football.

One caveat, we could just as easily slide to 4-12 season as go 8-8 imho. This isn't a franchise in contention mode. Lets let Fangio see what he has on defense, let the new OC get some seasoning, and also get White acclimated to a pro-style offense, and then really make our move in 2016/17. This was a big mess, and it's going to take awhile to clean it up, but they've done a good job so far.

I have a hard time believing a fan who posts about the Bears as much as yourself (not a slam, just an observation) is going to bypass the whole season by not buying NFL Sunday Ticket because you think they'll be bad...

Hard for me to believe it also but I am just really pissed off with this team and especially its ownership failure. I hope I am wrong about this season but last year was the most miserable in my memory as a sports fan. I guess this is going to be one futile moment of a fan's protest about his team's product.

I just hope that Corney gets a fair shot in training camp. I thought that he was wasted as a talent by the previous coaching staffs.

October 2003 was worse as a Cubs fan than every year they were bad combined. Not sure if you like baseball that much, but for me, to get that close and crumble was the worst.

I won't sit here & say I'm overly excited for the season but I also don't think it's going to be as bad as most seem to think. There are still holes for sure but Pace did a great job on paper of getting this ship turned around.

Being out in Southern California as well, I don't think I could bypass a Bears season even if I wanted to. Call DTV & get it for free. I did. lol

I am always excited for football season.

Perfect excuse to get together with buddies, get buzzed and eat food with no nutritional value.

2nd -3rd in division. Defense becomes middle of the road. Run offense is very, very solid maybe top 5. Cutler plays much better but not well enough to make anyone want him around in 16. 8-8 or 9-7
