I agree with your assessment of the last bench spots going to Mather and Dewitt right now.

The pitching staff is a really big question mark at this point though. I am not sure what they are going to do with Shark because it seems like Sveum likes him so far, and he might have the most upside of any of the starters. That said Wells has never been a reliever before and Shark was effective at it last year. I could see Shark being Marshalled into a bullpen spot (we don't have anyone else that is effective to be a reliever so we make you into a reliever). I am pulling for Volstad and Shark to be the last 2 SPs for this year.

Im also pulling for Shark and Volstad. Wells i think would be a fine LR guy

I sort of forgot about Rodrigo Lopez, but there's almost no reason to pay him when there are younger guys who can do the job just as well who the Cubs are already paying anyway.
