One it is a start. They are bitching about extending the tax holiday and if you cut that bullshit you can at least fund some of that holiday. 10 million to remake Sesame Street for Pakistan. WTF get your own big bird bitches.

I am sure you were being sarcastic here and think it is not a big deal.

Well, spending a trillion and a half ($1,500,000,000,000) more then what you bring in every year is a F'n problem.

By unelect do you mean hang them from the gallows or roast them over a fire? I'm just not quite sure

You are completely missing the point. When you are adding to the debt every day, and cant seem to find anywhere to cut spending, when expenditures like this exist its a matter of principle, it doesnt matter if cutting them will save the budget, but it sure doesnt hurt. thats 6.5 billion dollars they didnt have before. It doesnt matter wasted spending is wasted spending we dont have money, theres no justification for it.

I hope not a single one of you right leaning folks ***** about this being a left "spending us to death" thing.

There is not one single mention of who asked for and who voted on these appropriations. There is also no mention of what bills they were added to (pork barrel and earmark method).

Our congress sucks, not by design, but by what they have ALL turned it into with their self serving ways. It certainly didn't start with the current congress and it won't stop any time soon.

Also Rosh you can make the same argument about hardline libs wanting to tax the rich more. Thats "just a drop in the bucket" too by comparison.

That'll do.

Seriously we need to like kill half of them or something to show them we are pissed off. Like a huge huge mob of people needs to storm congress and start kicking their teeth in. Then maybe they'll fucking listen to us and realize we aren't so fucking silent anymore.

priorities dude

I have an NES console and games just waiting for my kids. If I still had the Atari 2600 you bet it would be in the cabinet, right next to the Nintendo.

Your 'math' logic is sound, but who is to say all of that stuff is "wasted spending"? Maybe it was very useful and important to the people who will benefit from those expenditures. I just scanned through the whole list and there is a lot of bullshit on there, but quite a bit is trumped up to sound devious and bad. This was from Coburn's office after all. How much of "our" money did HE spend to do this little report?

The problem I see with stuff like this mostly is that it seems like cutting is much harder than adding. Once these things are in they tend to stay in forever and grow. Budgets are build for cost of living adjustments, growth adjustments everything else. So while this may seem inconsequential at 6.5 billion or whatever it is. It's automatically going to grow the next year and the next year so it become 10 billion and not only that but it opens the door to have other things attached to it. So while it may only be 6.5 billion in spending now, if you don't cut it it has the potential to be much much more. It may seem like no big deal because in the big picture it's miniscule, but if that's your only argument, then their is no real reason not to cut it.

EDIT: I will say I was a bit turned off of the report when I read the first one and they went on to ***** about how all this money was being blow on parties, then at the very end they said, except that all the money comes from a fund that is generated from people checking a box on their tax return to donates to the fund. So in essence it's not wasting any tax payer money at all because people are willingly giving the money to them for this purpose.

I see what you are saying. But its like an individual strapped for cash making expense decisions. There are many things I can think of in my own life that are for sure beneficial (and not just recreational) that I would cut were I spending more than bringing in.

So what im saying, is given a healthy budget, fine. Given our current situation? These things are just not necessary to our country as a whole.
