Actually, if you look at the full report there is an explanation of each spending item with hundreds of citations to the official documents that the assertions come from so if you want to see how trumped up it is, just take a little stole and do some clicking.

I see what you are saying. But its like an individual strapped for cash making expense decisions. There are many things I can think of in my own life that are for sure beneficial (and not just recreational) that I would cut were I spending more than bringing in.

So what im saying, is given a healthy budget, fine. Given our current situation? These things are just not necessary to our country as a whole.
Not to beat a dead horse, but you are talking about a country with over 300 million people in it. A country that has business stakeholders (including customers of businesses and universities) from all over the world.

What is not important to you might be very important to some of those millions of people.

I might take some time to do that. Either way, I didn't appreciate the editorializing that was going on in the paper. It was very suggestive and cartoony at times. I felt like I was watching a prototypical right wing mud slinging commercial on tv.

Which is kinda exactly what you just did with that comment yourself.

If they want to raise my taxes then everyones gotta take one for the team. Im all for them raising taxes to balance the budget as long as I aint the only one getting fucked. If were all in this shit pile together then go for it to fix it. Its this nickel and diming we'll **** these people but not those people that pisses me off. The country is in a world of shit, now we have to slap two pieces of bread on that thing and we ALL have to take a bite.

That means I get taxed more, people that want money for bullshit dont get it, rich people get taxed more, the whole friggin shebang until we right the ship, then if we can keep a balanced budget we can talk about money going to the video game preservation society.

The bottom line is sacrifices have to be made for the clusterfuck our representatives got us in and unfortunately its our money. That means people that want money dont get it and people that get taxed get taxed more.

Not in favor of anyone paying a cent more in taxes until I see real cost cutting across the board. The tools in DC can not agree on cutting anything why would anyone want to see any tax increase is beyond my comprehension.

Im willing to pay more taxes as long as there are cuts. I can compromise. Not willing aside from that. that includes the payroll ss tax repubs want to push on us. **** that. percentage wise we are paying far more now than people that are collecting, so they can **** themselves when they want to say they paid into it too, im never going to see that money so i dont want to pay it.

The paper was staged by a Congressmen to be empircal evidence that we are wasting money. My posts are nothing of the sort. My posts are my opinions that tools like that politician can take their bullshit brainwashing ways and shove them up their ass.

(but I see what you mean - I just work on a much much much smaller stage than that windbag)

You are completely missing the point. When you are adding to the debt every day, and cant seem to find anywhere to cut spending, when expenditures like this exist its a matter of principle, it doesnt matter if cutting them will save the budget, but it sure doesnt hurt. thats 6.5 billion dollars they didnt have before. It doesnt matter wasted spending is wasted spending we dont have money, theres no justification for it.

Exactly. Small things tend to have the ability to add up to a big thing!

I'm convinved we will not see real spending reductions and the deficit will soar. Slimey 2 faced bastards say one thing do another. They just need to slash all budgets/programs/spending 10% across the board. No sacred cow exemptions. Everything gets cut including DOD, education, food stamps, unemployment, Medicare benefits, Medicaid benefits, government employees, congressional staffs ect... Cut it all, no exemptions or loop holes.

Fat change it will happen though.

I'd love to see this happens as well but I know it won't too. The "spending cuts" being discussed right now aren't even really cuts. Just reductions of the increase they had planned on. REAL cuts are needed REALLY bad.

For anyone looking for a place to live under the Tea Party style of government, I recommend looking into Kansas. Gov. Brownback is making massive changes very quickly. I can't wait to see how this limited form of government with trickle down economics works out in a few years.

Trickle down doesn't really work with a fiat currency. the money does hold enough value or not enough trickles down.

Tell that to the 2.8 million idiots that elected almost nothing but conservative republicans to govern them.

I feel bad for the people of Kansas, but you get what you wish for...

That dipshit can thank the single issue pro-life voters for his job. I'm ashamed that the reasonable people in KS didn't join me in voting against him
