the reason Zach Ertz is on the trade deadline is because he wants a contract similar to Kelce and Kittle...not going to happen here
He was useless in the middle of the field on blocking (well everywhere actually), and he was not effective in converting 3rd downs or even getting open. It was blatantly obvious that his effort on anything between the 20s was lackadaisical at best....He wasn't really that bad at all like you're trying to make him sound.
Does Graham have breakaway speed anymore? Hell no.
But he made a lot of difficult catches that helped move the chains, and not all of them were touchdowns. So to me he's still a productive player and one I'd want to keep especially with a new quarterback. A tight end that can catch is a quarterback's best friend and security blanket.
he wont' get that but he deserves a decent sized contract he's got good argument for being 3rd best TE.the reason Zach Ertz is on the trade deadline is because he wants a contract similar to Kelce and Kittle...not going to happen here
Also people are forgetting the perception of graham before he got here about he was washed. He has one decent season as a red zone target and now we should keep him over ertz who had a down season because of injury?I know we have been talking about how Graham is very useful in the RedZone, and he was, but let's not forget how BAD he was on the other 80 Yards. Not until the end of the Year did they start to get Kmet involved between the 20s.
Ertz could be a good pickup if he came with an exchange of players and minimize draft capital to later rounds, because Ertz is 30 now so he may not be the value he once was.

Sorry but I disagree.

Lol I think Graham is a shell of what he was. Claiming he wasn't an incredible player in NO is incredibly stupid though. Generally when that offense throws to someone (Kamara, Colston, Thomas, Graham) a ton it is because they are the best player on the field and being used appropriatelyIDC what anyone says Graham has always been massively overrated to me. he played with one of best QBs ever in best passing offense in football for prime of his career. they threw to him a million times.
if i hear "but Graham had 8 TDs and is our main red zone threat" one more time i'm gonna lose my mind.
Kmet woulda had 8 TDs if got all those red zone targets. guess what other TEs would've gotten way more open too it wouldn't be a jump ball every time. Graham is a very below average NFL starting TE.
$10M cap hit for a "veteran presence" is insanely too much, there's 40 other vets on the roster this is dumbest take ever. i get it if NBA team maybe. NFL, just give me the best f'n players.
i'd LOVE getting Ertz. won't happen. but he'd be a massive upgrade. next offseason i expect we'll go after a big time WR or TE. imagine having a Kittle or Kelce on this team.
