Seeding games tonight.

1). Base Gods vs. 2). 640 Meats.

Our only two losses in the "regular season" have come to this team by a combined 3 runs. We win we get the #1 seed, lose and get the #2 seed.

You need to go out like Ty Cobb. Just ignore that heckler in seat 5 though.

Comments: We earned the #1 seed by beating the team that gave us our only 2 losses this season. They were pretty pissed off the entire time, yelling at us and the umps. On to the Tournament.

Congrats on the #1 seed.

Apparently we are the #4 seed now.

They take the top 4 teams from division 4A and division 4B and put them into a 8 team tournament. We won our seeding game, so the lowest we should be is a #2 seed. Instead they give us the #4 seed.

:smh:

My wife just finished up a softball league, and the guy running the league had no idea what he was doing. My wife's team was terrible, so they were the #11 seed in the 12-team tournament. But in the first round they played...the #12 seed! For reasons unknown, the top 4 teams got byes, then the 5/6 seeds played, the 7/8 seeds played, etc. Why? So they play at 6pm, win their game against the equally terrible #12 seed, then they are informed their next game is at 10:15pm that night against the #1 seed. Instead of waiting around for 3+ hours to most likely get their ass kicked, everyone just went home.

lmao. Sounds like our league..

Just played in the most exciting game of my career.

First round of the Tournament: Base Gods 12, Baney Construction 11 (9 Innings)

So we play this upper division team that got moved down mid-year. They have pretty much 10-runned every team in their wins, and only have 2 losses on the season. They go up 8-2 on us early, we play solid defense and hold them. In the bottom of the 5th, we score 5 runs to make it 8-7. They get 1 more run in the 6th, we get 1 in our half of the 6th. 9-8 Going into the top of the 7th. They score 2 in the top half to make it 11-8...

Here's how our Bottom of the 7th looked, it started off with our #6 hitter.

Single
FC (runner out at second; 1 out)
single (men on first and second)
FC (runner out at second, men on first and third; 2 out)
single (1 run scores. Men on first and second; 2 out 11-9)
single (1 run scores. Men on first and third; 2 out 11-10)
single (1 run scores. Men on first and second; 2 out 11-11)
Ground out.

So we go to exta innings. Here the extra inning rules are, LAST out of last inning starts on second base. 1 out.

They come up and strand the runner at 3rd. We come up in the bottom of the 8th and strand our runner on 2nd. Top of the 9th and the first batter hits a sac fly, runner on third 2 outs. Next batter rips one to left field, our left fielder sprints over and makes a diving catch to end the inning. So we come up in the bottom of the 9th, first batter hits sac fly, next batter hits opposite field single to walk-off. It was a great moment.

Stat-line: 4-5, 2B, 2 runs, 2 RBI.

haha I have warning track power

Oh well. Ha We can't all hit the ball 400 feet. I miss playing softball. I need to find a team around here again. At least your average is pretty high. Who needs home runs?
