I really like the Armageddon guy, but I think I'd go with Harry Stamper to be the leader.

That would not sit well with me- I am going with the assumption that this is MY team. Stamper is a pretty solid leader- a mutiny in the making.

How about this for a more restrictive challenge.

Historical team:

5 members chosen + 1 mascot/pet
Must be human
Must be a known historical figure or from a non-fiction historical movie/show/game
You have to choose a historical time period when the zombie epidemic begins for the team.
Your team can/will time hop forward/backward to the time/place you choose.

I find this concept interesting with choosing what historical time period would be most interesting/survivable.

If you go far back there are simply fewer humans and thus fewer zombies... could be easier/boring but keep in mind you only have the resources/tech of the time period and whatever is brought with... so if you bring a sniper from 1941 to ancient Rome he has no ammo once he is empty... if you bring him to 1865 then he has to adjust to using guns from that era once his is empty.

Pick your team, pick your time, explain why/how things happen in that hypothetical scenario.

Interesting.
#1- Hiroo Onoda.
You may remember characters pattered after him on Gilligans Island or bugs bunny.
He was the Japanese soldier that remained on a remote island in the phillipines from world war 2 until 1974.. protecting it and refusing to believe the war was over.

His assets- 3 decades of self sufficiency. Loyal to his cause. Determined. There may not be another person in the history of this planet that was more dedicated to his cause. His survival tactics must be beyond compare.

#2- Ghengis Khan.
Assets- Master of warfare, a skilled hunter, fearless, and able to live his life outdoors in battle with primitive medical care.

#3- Michael DeBakey- World renowned surgeon, notably one of the minds behind the mobile army surgical hospital. I would have to have a health care option for my team.
Also a scientist and inventor, a great mind to have at my disposal

#4- Mike Tyson.
A perfect bodyguard/enforcer. A master of quick and brutal hits, I would take him in a closed room vs. anyone. even if someone was lucky enough to get a shot or 2 in, it would only delay the inevitable. He would corner and crush whoever was in front of him.

#5 Christina applegate- She has been hot for 30 years.

Mascot- my dogs of course.

As for time frame- Late 40's to early 50's.
Semi advanced weapons, existing infrastructure, and most importantly, painkillers and antibiotics with a pretty darn good selection of quality medical tools.
It was also after the invention of the walkie talkie and cb radio- communication would be available.
Many goods and products were made domestically, so spare parts and replacements for things I need would be readily available. Things were built to last, so vehicles and machinery would chug right along.
I could probably find steam generators fairly easily as well- electricity out of firewood.

When shit goes down, First things first- Leather jackets and chaps for everyone- there will be no accidental bites on my watch.
To a butcher shop for chainmail gauntlets.

Tyson takes the doctor to every hospital and pharmacy within range. He cleans them all out. He stockpiles everything he needs for the mobile surgical unit.

Ghengis kahn is tasked with securing and clearing a quality built stronghold on hill with great vision... given the time period, there will either be a stream nearby for clean water or a good well. No public water in the boonies back then in many areas. He will look after my dogs and Christina.

Hiroo and myself are headed out to stock up. Each in a tractor trailer, He to secure weapons and ammo, me to secure food.
I would hit a distribution center or manufacturing center before hitting stores- there would likely be a trailer just waiting for me filled to the brim with canned food. I would grab the yellow pages and start hunting up where to find mass quantities of food, sugar, coffee, and all the staples to make food. Perhaps railway hubs.
Most importantly, places where one trip nets me a quick semi truck full with zero competition.
Let the idiots riot at the grocery store and kill each other for a cart full of food, I am getting a year worth per trip.

I would grab a trailer full of food drop it off at the compound, and repeat as many times as I can. That will be an ongoing process... securing and hoarding food.
Hiroo would do the same at armories, gun shops, police stations, wherever. That would be an ongoing process, securing and hoarding arms.
shotgun shells, powder, and shot would be stockpiled as well.
Hiroo would also be tasked with securing tankers of fuel- again, we will be wise about it and bring in tanker after tanker, not just a barrel or can at a time.

Once I was in possession of several trucks worth of food, I would hit a construction yard. hitch up a lowboy trailer with a bulldozer and an excavator first and foremost, any other construction equip after. Generators are high on the list.
A trip to the highway department to secure plow trucks- big, burly plow trucks that could blow through cars and zombies without a hitch.

We would clear cut a mile radius around the compound, and push the trees in to a wall, with barrels of pitch scattered throughout to prepare them for ignition should it be needed.

Then, a trench around the compound. dirt removed from the trench would be dumped outside of the trench, creating a very effective slope to toss the zombies in to their death.

Once secured, the compound will be open to new residents- You want to live here? You and your family immediately go on runs to get the airstream trailer you will live in far from the main building, along with a set amount of useful tools, welders, cutters, fuel, and food. We will support your runs, but you must contribute within the first week.
If you have a skill that can enhance the quality of life for the compound, that can certainly be your job. If not, guard duty, farming, and labor will be your job.

the probationary residents will live in trailers at the perimeter, with food and water and neccessities provided, but you are first in line for defense.
As your value increases, you can begin building a permanent residence out of materials you bring in nearer the main building.

Hopefully there will be movie nights and a market and a good time will be had by all.

1) Selene from Underworld - She already fights the undead and werewolves too. After drinking from Alexander Corvinus she became an elder with super human strength and speed. She's very proficient in sword play as well as gun and knife play. She can function seamlessly in daylight too.

2) Alice from Resident Evil - She is an expert at fighting zombies and I think her and Selene would rock as a team.

3) Babydoll from Sucker Punch - She's defeated giant samurai, nazi zombies, and a dragon. Great combat skills. If she can imagine it, she can defeat it.

4) Solomon Grundy - He's already a zombie so might as well have one we can work with and knows the enemy inside and out. He's also nearly as strong as The Hulk and The Thing.

5) Nightcrawler from the X-Men - I don't particularly care for him but he could teleport our team out of precarious situations.

Mascot - Martha Stewart. Someone's gotta prepare meals.

#1 Leonardo Da Vinci - Elite genius, very much fit and active, defensive, and creative. Will solve the hardest problems put in front of him with little or no coaching.

#2 Alexander III of Macedon - The full package as far as strategy, class, offense, defense, and military. Student of the great philosophers and early scientists. Follower and leader.

#3 Stan Lee - He pretty much created all these characters on some of these lists. J/K

(real) #3 George Westinghouse - The only historical figure I can think of that can develop a whole infrastructure using most modern technology from absolute scratch. Let alone giving him access to the non-functioning system one would assume is still in place.

#4 Linus Pauling - Would develop the bio engineering tools that lead to curbing, reversing, or preventing the spread of zombies.

#5 Joan of Arc - IDK, didn't want to skip the all-important female. And why the **** not, she is worthy of any list IMO.

Historical pet: Harry from Harry and the Hendersons. Seems legit.

Time period:  I think this group can cover a few millennia successfully.
