As in Peyton? As in vs Rex Grossman or as in if only we had Peyton F Manning on the Bears?

You do realize Bears almost beat Manning with Grossman, right? All it would've taken was a QB that was slightly better than Rex.

If you're holding out for Peyton F Manning or bust you may as well find a different team. Cutler was the best QB the Bears have ever had, and then Trubisky was the best QB the Bears have ever had. We're a long way away from the best QB in the NFL being the best QB we've ever had.

Cutler was the best QB the Bears have ever had

I keep hearing this from some ppl. But no one can ever be specific about what made him the so called "best"...i.e. accomplishments, leadership, winning etc.

Carson Palmer

Playoffs Passing

We missed nothing in Palmer.
Cinn had a good D in 2019. Palmer did nothing in the playoffs. And 6 picks in the 2015 playoffs ?

That's apparently gonna beat Manning. Palmer was a decent QB, but he was never going to win shit

Maybe I should've added more. The reason I put those stats up were to show that Carson wasn't that big of a deal when it came to winning $$$ games. We missed nothing

I'm sure they could've easily gotten the number 1 pick.

It would have been interesting. The Bears had the 4th pick that year, before they traded down. But Palmer was widely considered the best QB prospect since Peyton Manning, and was the no-brainer #1 pick. I don't think Cincy was coming off that pick though.

Uhhh, the stats, the Bears' QB records he broke. Same with Trubisky. Extremely sad to say the same with Orton because those records weren't that good to be the 1st time they were reached in all that history.
The best BEAR QB is STILL not that high of a mark to meet. Stop pretending you think it means GOAT in the NFL.

Over the 8yrs jay was here I saw nothing he did in terms of accomplishments, leadership and winning .
Please note .....I never said anything about "GOAT in the NFL." The discussion is only about jay and the Bears.

I don't necessarily equate stats to being "the best". For me, it's a combo stats and or accomplishments, leadership
and winning . And keep this in mind....if someone stays somewhere long enuff, they can't help but accumulate stats.

For Trubisky one of his records was the fastest to 10K yards (I think), and Cutler's were also earlier rather than end of career stuff. That has nothing to do with this or the Bears QBs or any other bad QBs as their careers with any single team are relatively short. It's not like we're talking about Favre.

So you'd rather have a "good leader" who throws 12 INT to 1TD? I look to the HC for leadership and players for player abilities.

Cutler was better than Trubisky but you being wrong is pretty on brand.

Its right up there with his "draft a RB in the late 1st or early 2nd" stupidity.

Cutler is clearly light years behind Luckman in that category! in fact, Luckman WAS the GOAT during his tenure

Not sure what >>>"So you'd rather have a "good leader" who throws 12 INT to 1TD?" ..,...has to do with the discussion.
A good Qb has the qualities of leadership, accomplishments and is a winner. A good Qb is a "HC on the field". Put that sentence in your browser.

I don't see what jay did for the Bears in his 8 yrs. Two winning seasons in 8yrs.

Grossman throwing 2 picks to former Illini Hayden in SB. I loved Hayden because I was an Illini alum. Because of that SB, I hated Hayden. Fuck you Grossman for making me hate Hayden.

On a serious note, I was surprised the Bears made the SB that year. TheCardinals expose them with the game plan of letting Grossman beat you. It worked the next week when the 1 win Dolphins kicked the Bears ass in soldier field no less. Just stop the run game, stop Berrian going deep, and don’t kick to Hester . That’s it.

I didn't say either him or Trubisky did anything. I said up to the point of Cutler he was the best QB the Bears have had. I said up to the point of Trubisky he was the best QB Bears have had. Those are measurable statistics not imaginary attitudes or personality traits.
Nowhere does that say they are great and should be signed for life because the search has ended. What it says is the Bears have sucked big time.

I was replying to someone complaining because Palmer wasn't beating the GOAT. To beat the GOAT means you will only settle for the next GOAT. I told that person if they demand the GOAT on our team they should follow a different team because the best this team has had is Cutler and Trubisky. We've got a long way to go.
So yes by taking offense to the fact that QB's with measurables that say they are the best QBs the Bears have had you are continuing in the context of what I was replying to.

Erik Kramer was a better quarterback than Jay or Mitch.......easily

At least for that one year. So, truth

When I see jay's name come up in the context of having been "a good/ best Qb" for the Bears, I get a little triggered. So all I was saying is jay is a zero IMO. As for Trubisky, at least he left here with a winning record.
