Well it was nice while it lasted. Maybe for 2026 the USMNT can find a good coach. Bernhalter is a bum like all of the ones before him.

If only Allen Robinson finished his chances before the Dutch scored their 3rd goal...

Crying after running around a grass field for 4 hours because you’re bad at soccer. Losers.

My favorite teams
  1. Atlanta Braves
  1. Golden State Warriors
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Vegas Golden Knights
  1. Duke Blue Devils
  2. Nebraska Cornhuskers
Lack of quality in the final third really showed up today. Created plenty of chances, desperately need more clinical and decisive forwards.
Unless it's a perfect shot opportunity, a lot of times they don't even look to put it on net and play for potential rebounds. Like yes, some would be low percentage shots but at least it's making the goalkeeper work. And sometimes those low percentage shots actually go in the net. You wouldn't know that from the way the US plays. It's pass-pass-pass then lose possession of the ball. Netherlands only got a few opportunities but when they had the slightest opening on goal, they immediately put it in the net. US just hesitates until they inevitably lose possession or put a low effort shot at goal.

Nothing makes you more ashamed to be an American than seeing US soccer fans coping reactions after watching this bum ass team once again not come close to winning anything of substance.

That's exactly why I coach my kid to take the shot far out. Don't wait!

That is the correct observation.

Team US played very well in the first stage, mostly relying on exceptional endurance and stamina
But ... that will only get you that far.

The Dutch showed you today how to win :
Let the other team rage at the start of the game, pull back and take away their operating space.
Preserve energy and be lethal on counterattacks.

Second half, the Dutch got better in the game and US weakness was shown : not enough quality players and no striker to speak of.

The future looks ok though.
I expect team US to advance to the quarter finals in 2026. Keep working on it.

Honestly, Netherlands played a B- game today and still had their way. Didn’t help that the US defense tried to mimic the Bears defense.
