NFL states at the draft
Matthew Stafford

For me, he does not have the army strength of Stafford, but he has better accuracy

I believe his closest comp is byron leftwich.

Byron first year stats
57.2% completion, 2819 yards, 14 TD
Mitch’s first year
59.4% completion, 2193 yards, 7 TD

This was done in half the games of Byron.

Who do you guys think the closest comp is?

Mitch is somewhere between Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers in play style and talent. More athletic Philip Rivers? I don't really see the Stafford or Leftwich compare and this entire pigeon holing a QB process is flawed anyway. They are all unique.

Stats don't show who is comparable. Playing style reminds me of AR or A Smith.

He's nothing like Leftwich. You don't watch a lot of football do you?

I think Alex Smith seems like a good comparison. We'll be very lucky if he can sustain that level for the next several years

He reminds me of a young right handed Steve young. Mobile, accurate with a good not great arm but raw.
I think this is the closest comparison.

I suspect he'll turn out more productive sooner than Alex. Smith never much liked the long ball and had stats without as much influence on the game as he should have. I expect Mitch to not shy from going downfield unless the coaches/scheme restrict him like last year. Why I said somewhere between him and Rodgers as I don't expect him or any young player to become Rodgers.
