Top End-Romo is a good call. Solid arm, better accuracy and can move around.

Low End-SF Alex Smith or Case Keenum, good tools but never really produced and was super inconsistent. He got to better coaching and took a huge step.

NFL states at the draft
Matthew Stafford
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/mitch-trubisky?id=2558008

For me, he does not have the army strength of Stafford, but he has better accuracy

I believe his closest comp is byron leftwich.

Byron first year stats
57.2% completion, 2819 yards, 14 TD
Mitch’s first year
59.4% completion, 2193 yards, 7 TD

This was done in half the games of Byron.

Who do you guys think the closest comp is?

Leftwich played 24 games in his first year?

Mitch is somewhere between Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers in play style and talent. More athletic Philip Rivers?

Somewhere between a consistent top 12 QB year to year and one of the best to ever play the game? And then Rivers, a borderline HOFer.

Wow.

I see mick is using up his weekly trolling quota. Because clearly comparing playing styles means you're comparing careers.

He's nothing like Leftwich. You don't watch a lot of football do you?

Yes I watch a lot of football.
Take a look at the way Byron stays in the pocket. Passes are right on the money. This was also a PRESEASON game.

Now, do I think Mitch will have a better career than Byron. Yes. But from what I see right now, that is the best first season comparison out there

If he was talking about styles, why would he be using statistics to compare? Seemed to me he was talking about career trajectory so far.

The homerism on this board is astounding and it doesn't take a troll to see that, just an honest and objective observer.

#1 Byron Leftwich is not in the HOF
#2 this is a bears message board, you should expect people to be a bit of homers
#3 if Mitch is HOF by end of career, will you be eating your words?

Who said he was?

#2 this is a bears message board, you should expect people to be a bit of homers

I expect adults to be somewhat rational.

#3 if Mitch is HOF by end of career, will you be eating your words?

No. In the unlikely event (unlikely because only a tiny % of players do) that he reaches that level, it would still have been irrational to consider him that way in 2018.

I have never seen anyone call dear sweet Mitchell a bust. I have seen people compare him to hall of famers in this very thread.

Remind me again, who are the trolls?

Leftwich had a elongated release. Mitch has a lightning release. That already makes them completely different in terms of offensive timing schematics.
