To those who will be there tonight, it will be a special night. I'll see you all there...

And to those who will be watching it on TV, my apologies for having to put up with the terrible broadcasting.

I'll be at the game as well but don't get those complaining about a TV broadcast. Hell, it is regular season, original 6, a Blackhawks home game, on TV. Things could be a whole lot worse and I don't get those who get all wrapped up in the broadcast in itself. Simply enjoy the hockey. Wasn't long ago that fans had to either attend the game to watch a shitty product or listen to a shitty team on the radio.

Some of us have been watching for nearly 3 decades and would like better than average coverage if this is going to be their "A" team.
Yay, be happy for average coverage.
Not a big fan of Doc, and Edzo is fine when he isn't with Foley. Pierre? Well, that speaks for itself.
The Canadian broadcasts are much better. The NBCSN crew is trotted out there for the ones who like "Joe Buck" coverage.

I won't be able to listen to a Doc tangent on how the puck is related to Chicago tearing down the ferris wheel at Navy Pier. Riveting.

Regardless, Hawks come out strong-- take a 3-0 lead only to blow it so we can see 3 on 3 OT.
4-3 Hawks in a sack race reffed by Pierre.

If you guys are listening to the broadcasters that much, you are watching it wrong, atleast in my opinion. For me, it's absolutely fine whoever is in there. I'm simply happy to watch any hockey on TV and zone out the broadcast team pretty much. Certainly isn't something worth complaining about in my eyes.

Back to the game and not the broadcast. Really looking forward to seeing how all the new guys step up. TT and Baun tossed into the mix as well. Hopefully the postseason TT had will help him get that consistency at the NHL level and playing with Hossa/Toews won't hurt. Also, interested to see how the D lineup and what type of minutes the guys are all going to get in the first game of the season.

The sounds of hockey are amazing in my home. I have an impressive sound system, and they do a pretty good job mic'ing the action, and it's distracting hearing Pierre between the whistles. Admit it. You want to mash his head into a pie filling too.
I know how watch hockey and analyze it. I don't need a "writer" in my name to prove it either. Or do I need to post which rat leagues I played in and how many assists I had when I was 22 playing for the Red Light District Beer Chuggers?
So I guess we're disagreeing and moving on, right?

I'm taking my cam to the game tonight and will be getting some shots of the preskate and of the game itself. I'll need the 300mm from my seats.

I say you had more beers than assists.

Really bummed that this game is tonight. I wanted to go to the UC for this one, but decided to save the money and watch the playoffs instead

I received an announcement from the team that they would be showing the Cubs game at the UC.
That's one hell of a cover charge to watch playoff baseball.
I mean-- I get it, two great sporting events in one night, but I'm glad I don't really like baseball.

It's probably a good thing that I've gotta work until 6ish this evening, otherwise I'd be adding to my already outstanding credit card balance by throwing a pair of SRO tickets to tonight's game on there. Next time, for sure.

Enjoy it if you're gonna be there. I'll be eating and drinking all night tonight in celebration.
