Smith held out twice on the Bears. Both times when it made no sense to hold out. Once as a rookie and it was a rookie contract and again while he was under contract he held out trying to get an extension.
He ended his on contract hold out by requested a trade.

If anyone is triggered it's because of your revisionist history for a guy who could tackle well but not for a loss, only gains.

Monty was a bad loss but it's not like he wasn't replaceable which is what you get when you don't value RBs except as low round picks.
Smith has been trash this year. I posted in another thread a Ravens message board discussion about why they are paying him Smith so much money to do absolutely nothing spectacular (and that he looks much slower and fatter). The lesson is to not pay off the ball linebackers that much money, especially one that isn’ta leader. And what will we ever do without Monty and his 4.3ypc!!!!

My life of hyperbole.

You mean like when I called the defense overrated?

Or like when I said the Bears are likely to lose nine straight?

Like when I said Justin Fields was going to bust out and not be the Bears QB after the 2022 Texans game?

That kind of hyperbole?

What about when you said Daniels was a hot garbage, one read QB that would be a GIGANTIC bust in the NFL?

And you said Williams was much, much better than him, that it wasn't ever close.

I've been told that you have TONS of takes like that one.

You think this defense was overrated? OMG, you are a genius for figuring that out.

You said the Bears are likely to lose 9 straight? Wow! Genius again.

No offense but you come off like such an old, blow hard sometimes.

Nothing against old people, just old blowhard people.

Why do you pick fights in literally every thread?
Nail on the head. That’s why he is so disliked. He has no redeeming traits, no self deprecation , no “happy drunk” phase. He’s just ann old ass, salty uncle biff whose wife cheats on him with fudge covered Ritz Crackers.

Daniels career arc is settled? He's going to be great?

Ya'll make some huge conclusions already.

Do the Bears still suck?

We're about to find out.

Can't wait to see Caleb hold onto the ball too long and take a critical sack.

Can't wait to see the offensive line get behind the sticks again with a critical penalty to help kill a drive after going down 10-0.

Can't wait to see Braxton Jones give up yet another critical sack.

Can't wait to see one more stupid play call in a critical situation.

Can't wait to see the defense get gashed in the run game.

Can't wait to see the secondary get burned in a critical situation.

Can't wait to see zero sacks from Dexter and Sweat.

Can't wait to see the non existent pass rush perform again.

Yeah Matt Eberflus was arguably the worst head coach in the history of the NFL and did a lot to help these Bears lose.

But your team will look better than it does when it's constantly playing from behind. If you want to ignore the things that this team does to wind up having to come from behind in the first place.

After witnessing the greatness of my Arizona State Sun Devils this year and the failures of my Chicago Bears this year, I can tell you with no bias that the story of failure of these Chicago Bears was written in the first two games of the season.

The story of success for my Sun Devils was also written very early in their season.

Your team's character is almost always determined very early in the year and this year is no different and this week will be no different with or without Eberflus.

And sure maybe they rally for one win against a shitty 49ers team, but don't be fooled by little spurts of success when it's been a long season of failure.

The true character of the media in this town exposed yet again. Matt Eberflus grew a beard and got a haircut and that didn't make him a better coach. Just like Thomas Brown talking well during a press conference doesn't mean he can coach.

When a team loses seven in a row, it's safe to say that team sucks.

I agree. But to be fair, those who are constantly jabbing at him are also ruining every discussion we try to have. Just ignore the guy. I need to take my own advice there don’t I?

And the GM should be fired instead heralds as some genius who pulled off one of the greatest trades of all time.
If you reach a point where you’re pissed at your GM for not saving the Darnell Mooneys of the world you have something wrong and it’s personal.

Darnell Mooney is having a far better year than Keenan Allen and is costing less.

Mooney sucked in Chicago because of Luke Getsy and Justin Fields. One of those came with the hiring of Matt Eberflus.

Is there a trend here?

Oh no the Bears still suck.

The football gurus at Halas Hall like to work their way up the chain slowly.

First, fire Getsy, then Waldron, then Eberflus...Who's next?

Who's left?

And yet, the problem remains.

The conclusions I've made is that you said it was an absolute certainty that Daniels would be a complete bust.

Your predictions are shit and you know it.

And you are trying to tell us that you know about football by saying you saw the holes in our defense?

What moron couldn't?

Get a grip.

Lol THE VAST MAJORITY of the board had this defense pegged as Top-3 in the NFL this year and most of them said it was probably the best defense with the best secondary in the NFL.

Typical Bears fans completely overrating their team and players in the preseason just like last year with Justin Fields Chase Claypool and the offense.

This year it was Gervon Dexter hype. Now the Bears are 26th in the NFL at stopping the run.

Between the hype for Stevenson and Dexter you'd have thought this was the 85 Bears again the way people were talking.

Yeah, there are A LOT of pretty ignorant Bears fans who want so desperately to believe what they want to believe that they see things with horse blinders on their face.

I will give you that.

I don't think not having those blinders on your face is anything to brag about though.

I never once got the impression that anyone thought this D would be comparable to the 85 Bears.

Are you on more than one forum? If not you’re just making stuff up.

Monty, Mooney and Smith is the perfect description of the problem with Bears fans and especially Daniel.

Cheap out on offense, get poor performance but above their draft pick and fans dub them as super stars.

Get defense with a high pick, get sub par performance and they're super stars.

Use a high pick on offense and they're bums. Use a less than 1st on defense and they're bums.
