I gave Thibs a bit of a pass on the NY game, though most people were ripping him a new one, but I understood why he took that chance & didn't crucify him for it when it didn't work out.
But this, this is entirely different. There's no logic that defends this decision. Thibs subbed in a player who not only hadn't played a single NBA game in 3 years, but hadn't played in the game since the 5 min mark of the 2nd quarter!!! Yes FT's are FT's, you should hit them at every level, but pressure situations are a different monster. What Thibs told me with that move is, "I trust this trash heap scrub more than I do my starting SG to make a FT or pass." He dropped the ball completely, just like Korver on the loose ball, but in the words of Adam Sandler, YOU BLEW IT!!!
