What would McKee cost us, to PK and play with Hendry on the third pairing?

What I wouldn't give to find a way to push sharp back to wing, I'm fine with him at center, I just am better with him at wing.

Agreed but I don't like the 4th line. It will be hard to replace the production we had last year with that line.

You crack me up, always finding something to complain about. If the Hawks fail due to the lack of production from the 4th line, then there are bigger things amiss.

Teef-Seabs

Scott on the pine

When Huet leaves the building will have 20 signed with $1,956,744 of cap space (including the roster bonus penalty).

This is what I envision the roster looking like on opening night.

Brouwer/Toews/Hossa

Stalberg/Sharp/Kane

Kopecky/Bolland/Makarov

Bickell/Dowell/Skille

Keith/Seabrook

Hammer/Campbell

Hendry/Boynton

I think that is probably the best slot allocation for the guys that will make the team out of camp. Stalberg, from what I've heard, isn't all that great defensively, so it doesn't make much sense to play him on our shutdown line. Makarov is rumored to be a really solid two-way player, so he is more suited towards that role. Kopecky is pretty much a jack of all trades, master of none, so he fits on that shutdown line as well. Bickell/Dowell/Skille all like to throw their weight around and are suited towards the fourth line.

Just IMO anyways. How these guys play in camp, and who seems to click, might have a lot to say about it.

Can you tell me how many actual games Eager and Burrish played last year?

Then explain to me how that's going to be hard to replace.

Hawks had a luxury with their 4th line last year that most teams don't... our 4th liners were pretty damn good for the most part.

But yea, replacing their production when most teams don't really have a decent 4th line is a non-factor completely in my book.

Not many. Eager, Burish and Fraser scored 15 goals combined last year. Although he saw time on the 4th line I don't consider Kopecky a 4th liner.

I actually like the new 4th line better. I honestly believe the skill is better and their will be more "want to" out of them.

Yea this was my point. I actually think skill wise we'll have more this year on the 4th.

So do we pencil Fernando in for a full season, or assume 40 games? And who's place does he take, and who plays when he can't?

Yup. And I think the team as a whole got bigger...not counting "ride the pressbox" Scott.
