I watched the Ottawa/Minnesota game last night, and it reminded me of why I hate the shootout and the 3 point game. More or less because these 2 mediocre teams deserved to tie. Neither wanted to close the other one out.

I am surprised, but you're right - the league isn't going to suspend him. I think it crossed the line, even though it wasn't directed at another player (which might be the reason why he got off).

They've started off hard on that stuff last season (Boynton and Wiz) and didn't do shit when Ference flipped off the crowd in Montreal.

The Wings are playing well, but aren't playing much. They had a four day break last week and have a six day break this week. Just crazy for the first two weeks of the season.

Yeah, they can whine all they want about how they should be in the eastern conference (which they should be), but they only have 3 instances where they play 3 games in 4 nights this season.

Meanwhile the Hawks have that happen 10 times in their schedule this year.

If Phoenix leaves to go to Quebec for instance, they should remain in the West, and Columbus should go east before Detroit ever does.

Yeah, it's definitely not a done deal. Just because Ilitch crows about it the most doesn't mean much.

Assuming that there is simply just a few teams moving rather than a full-on realignment, it's going to be hard to get the Western conference owners to let Detroit go East.
