Imagine the Preds without Rinne? I know they have Lindback but that'd be a huge loss for them. (losing him to UFA)

Yeah, they'd be toast and it is funny how Lindback is essentially Rinne-lite.

I don't dig big contracts for goalies, but seeing as how Nashville is going to lose Weber ($10 says he goes to the Wings), they really need to shell out the cash for Rinne. Dude is too important to their game.

Rinne is a fantastic tender, but I think you're going off the deep end. Consider the system NoNeck has implemented and the d-corps, too. Perhaps these may also have something to do with "Rinne-lite" being successful thus far as well.

PHILADELHPIA (AP)—All Danny Briere(notes) could hear were the agonizing screams. Chris Pronger(notes) buried his face in his hands after taking a brutal blow to the outside of the right eye, fearful of the worst for his eyesight.

Hunched over, Pronger skated straight to the bench, his hands over his eyes.

“I knew he was in trouble and needed help,” said Briere, who skated with Pronger to the bench.

Pronger, the Flyers captain, will miss two to three weeks and spend the next few days on bed rest, putting a scare in Philadelphia’s 4-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday night.

Columbus beats Detroit 4-1. Despite the W, I have to say that the Jackets' PP is dreadful. 1-7 with only 8 shots. They couldn't get anything set up in the offensive zone. Very sloppy, disorganized and hard to watch. Maybe that's Detroit's PK unit, but I have to believe that Columbus is THAT bad. Wow.

Columbus totally blows. I expected them to not be good, but definitely didn't see them starting this horrible.

Super glad to see them beat the Wings though. NOBODY BEATS THE WIZ!
