Boston played an incredible game. Defensively, they were just about perfect. They blocked so many shots and clogged up the shooting lanes- it really felt like they were frustrating Vancouver by denying them any real flow. Yes, the Canucks had solid chances, but they didn't look anything like the Vancouver we've seen earlier this playoffs.

I think that first 4 minute PP Boston had was VERY well played by Boston. They took a ton of shots and Chara is a great screen. They just couldn't get a bounce their way otherwise they could have had a nice early goal.

Probably the most incredible thing was how quiet that Vancouver crowd was. That was absolutely astounding. I think part of it was nerves, but a bigger part of it was Boston standing up to everything Vancouver had while still managing to get some offensive pressure of their own.

Horrible ending for Boston, but they played an incredible game. If they keep it up, they absolutely have more than a chance.

Edit: yeah, Torres is a bum. I was actually shocked that he had as much ice time as he did. His role (tough guy, big dirty hits) will absolutely be diminished in this series in that Boston wont take his shit. He really didn't have a physical game... shows how tough he really is.

And Burrows. Hair puller and a biter? Get the hell out of here. I've never seen that before and quite frankly, have never even thought biting would occur in an NHL game. Ridiculous.

Oh, no doubt. Plus, Tim Thomas was a total beast tonight. If they can bring it like they did tonight, every night, they should be good to go.

Burrows: His [Bergeron] finger was in my mouth, but I didn't bite it.

:smh:

I thought Ruutu bit someone a couple years ago.

It looked better tonight than it has, though.

It's a shame they have to remove a guy who has won the hardest shot competition from the point to screen the goaltender in order to try to get something going.

No suspension for Burrows.

Good to see there are different sets of rules for the Clownucks.

Let em do what they want.

What a load of shit. Guy has pulled hair in the past and now bites a player and the league does nothing. Great call.

I would have had more respect for the league if they came out and said "well, Bergeron stuck his finger in there so it's partly his fault... no suspension". But to say they "found no conclusive evidence that Alex Burrows intentionally bit the finger of Patrice Bergeron".. that's completely pathetic and quite frankly, insulting.

A few gems....

Henrik is a better captain than Tazer
We're (Hawk fans) jealous that we don't have Burrows
Bieksa is a stud

Bieksa is the biggest coward in the league...I can still see him doing the old
"no mas" when challenged by John Scott. Then fighting the ALWAYS dangerous Patrick Marleau.....who hadnt been in a fight in 7 years.

Henrik was such a force that he and his dim witted brother were shut down by a Dave Bolland coming straight off a serious concussion.

Jealous? Of fucking girlie-man Burrows? Im guessing most 10 year old girls are jealous of his prowess at biting and hair pulling...other than that, what does he
do to be jealous of?

Anybody wonder where the Canucks got their two singers for the anthems? The old guy looks like they pulled him in from skid row, gave him a suit and sent him out there. The guy doing "Oh Canada" looks like a Molson beer driver pulling double duty after a long shift.
