Boston played an incredible game. Defensively, they were just about perfect. They blocked so many shots and clogged up the shooting lanes- it really felt like they were frustrating Vancouver by denying them any real flow. Yes, the Canucks had solid chances, but they didn't look anything like the Vancouver we've seen earlier this playoffs.
I think that first 4 minute PP Boston had was VERY well played by Boston. They took a ton of shots and Chara is a great screen. They just couldn't get a bounce their way otherwise they could have had a nice early goal.
Probably the most incredible thing was how quiet that Vancouver crowd was. That was absolutely astounding. I think part of it was nerves, but a bigger part of it was Boston standing up to everything Vancouver had while still managing to get some offensive pressure of their own.
Horrible ending for Boston, but they played an incredible game. If they keep it up, they absolutely have more than a chance.
Edit: yeah, Torres is a bum. I was actually shocked that he had as much ice time as he did. His role (tough guy, big dirty hits) will absolutely be diminished in this series in that Boston wont take his shit. He really didn't have a physical game... shows how tough he really is.
And Burrows. Hair puller and a biter? Get the hell out of here. I've never seen that before and quite frankly, have never even thought biting would occur in an NHL game. Ridiculous.
