The sheer fact that this thread hasnt even had a rumor posted in 5 days is a bad sign heading into this season. lol
Twitter reports say Wings have backed out of the Doan negotiations, because the offer was too high.
I've gotta imagine that means the price is too high to be a reasonable deal for the Hawks.
I wouldn't mind throwing $6 or $7 million at Doan ONLY if he'd take a one-year deal. But anything beyond that isn't a smart investment, given Doan's age.
What are some of the demands he's been asking for?
thats a lot of dough for 1 year too. im sure a lot of teams will pass on him for his demands.

Several different sources and people all over the web, so it is hard to know what is fact/fiction at this point.
From what I have seen/heard...could be looking for up to 5 years. Could also be looking for up to $7.5mil. Doesn't necessarily mean he is looking for the both of those together, but just some things I have seen.

Doan wants $30M over four years if he leaves Phoenix, source says. That will scare off more than Detroit”
That is ridiculous
With the ridiculous inflation in player salaries, Doan is probably worth around $6mil - atleast according to the current market. At 4 years though? That is where the killer comes in. Damn.

Whatever Doan's smoking, he should share it with the world.
Specifically, I've heard the Hawks are willing to chump up some big bucks on average annual value and extend term out to four or possibly five years. Are they the only club courting Doan that is willing to do so? Probably not.
