P.S.S. It also does make it MUCH harder for me to get laid without Playoff seats... :icon-smile:

You just need to go hang out in the uber-cheesy sports bars in The Viagra Triangle leading up to and then during the Playoffs. Spend a wee bit of coin on some drinks (a.k.a. foreplay). Problem. Solved. Once they've had enough alocoholzzz they'll freely lay anybody and we all know this about TVT.

As great as that is to hear, doesn't it suck that you have to result to such measures just to be a STH?

It is also how I share ST's because of the exact same reason. The true fans have to either resort to measures such as this or to let them go knowing that a broker or corporation is going to buy them.

Not really....

And yet I got a call from the organ-i-zation last night, my old rep... My buddy did too.

"Evening Mr. The Count! We wanted to let you know that we have playoff tickets available for game 5, would you be interested?"

"I am afraid not as I will not pay for tickets at the United Center again. With all of the increases made, are you finding that you cant sell playoff tickets? That is amazing!"

"Well, the organ-i-zation does need to protect their business."

"I agree. And that is why you are calling me? A former and disgruntled customer? Lindsey, I believe we reap what we sow. Have a great evening. You can remove my phone number from your records."

Hilarious. They can **** themselves. It would be funny to see the UC with a ton of empty seats again because of the ridiculous ticket prices. Especially in the playoffs.

do they still try to quote what a bargain they are compared to the rest of the league? I believe in the beginning they went up to have enough money to be competitive but I think they are in the top 5 now? so I wonder what the line is now? or I could be mistaken? I don't know what they rank in the league.

I believe they were 11th before this latest price hike.

Not that I like anything about it but Chicago , New York, and L.A. being our largest cities. The market value for any sports team in any one of those cities should be able to command top pricing for their product. Should we be surprised with the increases?

No, Rocky is running this thing like a business, and no one should be surprised. Bill did not really run it like a business, rather a hobby, which explains the massive losses taken before the Cup team was built.

It is a business, and one that I suspect Rocky wants to cash in on while the iron is hot. He's doing it on the backs of not just the season ticket holders but also the casual fans too, they aren't immune from these increases either. I don't think the increases shock anybody, not anymore, but maybe if they were smaller increases they'd be more palatable. In just Rocky's tenure the climb has been steep, and that's tough I'm sure on anyones pocket, not just those scrapping by to afford their seats.

I'm glad I got to see a Cup winner at least once in my lifetime, I know Cub fans, much less season ticket holders, still waiting on that dream.

Years from now STH will wax reflective on how they got out before the prices got really absurd, but the reality is it was just a business decision either way.

I know the ticket department will do all they can to help people keep their tickets, and that's admirable.

In the end the trajectory on these ticket prices is most likely headed towards top-5 in the NHL, whether that's right or not.

Maybe when the team sucks again those STH that either have let their tickets go, or plan on doing so in the near future, will be able to come back around and buy their old seats and watch their team in what will probably have become an "antiquated" facility. Then again why would they?

Thank goodness for those 2010 Hawks, and let's hope these 2013 ones don't fall too far from that tree.

I can't believe how much more expensive the Hawks are. I figured it would be some, but wow... I guess the bulls just don't have the excitement that the hawks do.

I believe they are now close to each other in comparison. But Bulls have been higher for years to this point.
