Boo is correct. The Cubs have him on their radar. I would think they have an absolute top 4 and then they have underslot guys. I am praying we get Rodon but Conforto is def. a possibility. Do I like it? I dont know. I would have to see who they draft later that made the money worth it.

Top college arm Carlos Rodon is said to be asking for a bonus of over $6MM, reports Scout.com’s Kiley McDaniel (via Twitter). In McDaniel’s view, that makes Brady Aiken a strong favorite to go first overall to the Astros. The top overall slot comes with an approximately $7.9MM allotment, with the second choice landing at just over $6.8MM.

Might be enough that the top 2 teams avoid him.

Money saver pick so they have more $ later round. He was ranked #16 and is listed after Soler on the Org depth chart.

Now on MLB network the idea is to convert him to LF. He fills the corner LH power needed and should be fast to the majors.

This just keeps on illustrating that they are drafting bats and are using trade chips to acquire pitching.

Ya. It was a surprise pick. But after last ear where Bryant took slot I'm guessing they wanted to have more cash later round to sign some harder to sign picks. Same thing the stroes did 2 years ago.

I liked Jackson better but the Cubs are deep in RH power and they have no MI need.

I see Schwarber being a DH if his bat progresses like it should. He is blocked by Rizzo at first. He is not starting at RF or CF at all due to Soler and Almora coming soon.
