Slausson gets 4 yrs !

Thats great news too.

I think Jennings is gonna wind up like Vasher did and last two years with us after his big payday.

My thought is it is back loaded. Maybe they wanted to give him the numbers so it didn't look like we were log balling him, but made it so that it will be easy to restructure later.

It has to be a small amount per year. It will free up what we can do in free agency and in terms of resigning our own players. This is a genius move by Emery.

While the contract is likely backloaded. Signing bonuses are only proratable over 5 yrs, so that $54M would equate to $10.8M/yr over the first 5 yrs

Based on this info, I worked the numbers out myself. I know all the rules and loopholes to the NBA salary cap, but I'm unfamiliar to the NFL one so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

2014: 3m 10.8m 13.80m
2015: 5m 10.8m 15.80m
2016: 7m 10.8m 17.80m
2017: 10m 10.8m 20.80m
2018: 11m 10.8m 21.80m
2019: 18m 0 18.00m
2020: 18m 0 18.00m
Total 72m 54.0m 126.04m

That is ridiculous. Tim Jennings has been great for 3 consecutive seasons. Already for longer than Vasher ever was. More importantly his impact is has been noted and felt WITH and WITHOUT a consistent pass rush.

Well, that one play where it was ruled a touchback and then Trestman lost the challenge kind of put them behind the eightball, so to speak.
Wow...someone must have mentioned "eight ball", and look what showed up

--The 3rd down phantom "roughing the passer" penalty on Shea that allowed the Packers to score a TD.

--The blatant hold of Peppers that allowed another Packer TD.

Etc, etc, etc..........
