How do all these signings affect the salary cap since they are done prior to this NFL season ending? Can we charge as much to this year's cap? Do we have any money left to do so?

Since all these are technically "extensions" can't the cap be treated differently?

Cutler will be the QB for two more seasons maximum before injury and/or incompetence forces him out. That was going to be the case whether he signed for 3 or 7 years. As for suicide watch, we've gotten through 28 years with no Superbowl win so a couple more isn't going to kill us

I approve of this move.

I also approve of finally putting to rest all of the anti-cutler crowd and their claims of reassurance that Cutler would not be a Bear next season....as if they actually knew something. Maybe this board can become somewhat palatable now.....but I doubt it, the cancer has spread too far.
