1:45pm: San Diego and Chicago are primarily working directly together on a deal, tweets Nightengale, who says that they may not need the involvement of a third team to swing a major deal.

Some rumors out there that Castro and Hendricks are part of the possible deal.

Was just about to write that.
Was thinking maybe Hendricks as part od deal cause their looking to get Kimbrel with Ross..

All this pitching will be great.. need the bats to get going. .

Wish they could've dealt for Revere.. Blue Jays are loaded now

Absolutely. I'd give up Edwards, McKinney, AND Almora. **** it. Anyone but Baez lol

I would do that too. I just pray we don't give up Baez. I think he really might have fixed his swing/plate approach. If true, he might be the biggest monster of them all.

Agreed. The kid has amazing power and from everything I've seen, his plate approach is a lot better. I think he's going to be a superstar

At this point Cubs are down to smaller deal for reliever. 3-way deal strongly denied as ever existing

It looks like the Cubs are going to do what most thought. Small moves. See if they make the playoffs, let things shake out and go hard in FA for pitching and go for the next couple of years.

Cubs actively working phones according to MLB exec. "Theo+Jed just aren't comfortable trading away big pieces unless they hit HR in deal."

Hmmmmmmmm

As frustrating as it seems, that's probably the best course of action to take. We're not winning the WS and you can bet San Diego wanted Baez or no deal. We'll re-load in FA with a loaded farm system ready for sustained success.

Watch us bring the in the Big Fish, Mr. Price in FA. A rotation with Lester, Price, and Arrieta would be nasty. Plus Rizzo, Kris Bryant, Soler, Schwarber, Addison Russell, and Javy Baez? Yikes.
