The two worst moves of the day yesterday by the Nationals
1. Failing to hit with RISP
The Nationals went 1-10 with RISP and lost the game 4-3. While it's easy to blame Dusty for a lot, this game equally falls on the players and their lack of execution. I mean Dusty was fairly aggressive in going to his bullpen for the most part and his bullpen let him down. I don't think it's fair to say Dusty mismanaged them a game by making one "mistake" in leaving Scherzer to face Pederson.
2. Leaving Scherzer in
This is a tough one because it wasn't that terrible decision to leave Scherzer in; the outcome was just as bad as you could imagine. The move could have been Rzepczynski but then you assume the Dodgers go with Puig and now all of the sudden you're burning one of your best lefties to come in and face three straight righties. I think the only move in that situation is probably Perez and see what the Dodgers do because Pederson hit one HR off lefties all year so if they go to Puig, you counter with your righty (Kelly). All in all, I don't think you feel that bad of leaving your Cy Young pitcher in to face Pederson.
