I was the leader of the ridley train at #8. Miller looks like he will be good but Ridley already is tearing it up like I assumed he would.

I, too, was in favor of trading down for Calvin Ridley during the draft.

Watching him tear it up is painful... I think it would have been nice to have another weapon, especially a guy who really wanted to be here. Coming off a knee injury, Robinson was risky... plus it would be nice to have someone in the wings when Robinson's contract is up. That's pretty much what Atlanta did.

Oh well..

With trade downs there are a lot of possibilities for who I wanted. I cooled off on WRs after free agency. I was shocked we got Miller. It did hurt every time Kirk made a catch and YAC against us.

Here’s hall of fame lock Quentin Nelson in OT yesterday getting absolutely destroyed by Clowney, pretty much ending that drive and the game in a tie...

If he made that play as a Bear, the B word would be flying around this forum.

I'm so happy that we didn't take a G at #8.

I wanted Calvin Ridley, until the Bears signed Robinson. Then I was down for Ward or Fitzpatrick.

Smith was my guy followed by Fitzpatrick. I have seen nothing from him that makes me regret this. With his instincts and closing speed he will be blowing shit up once he grasps his assignments.

Same here once a few of my favs were gone but getting Mack made Smith a no braner. Sometimes things have a strange way of working out. For the guys that wanted Edmunds, I asked, why when Smith is better?

People were trying to project him into an edge rusher.

Calvin Ridley.

I can’t even remember why his draft stock fell so much. I might have jumped off that train though? I can’t really remember.

I'm not worried about Smith at all. He has only made a few mistakes in 4 games. I mostly view him as a player that we will need in the near future more so than needing him to have an immediate impact. That isn't to say he can't have an immediate impact either. The season is very young. I'm sure the splash plays will come in time.

FWIW I don't think there are very many guards in the NFL at all that would be able to handle a running start line twist/stunt move like that from Clowney.

You know that doesn’t matter around here.

Hopefully, Clowney can’t find a big money deal next year in free agency and opts for a one year prove it deal with the Bears.

Before anyone attacks, I’m not suggesting this has any real chance of happening.

I liked Landry in a trade down. I underestimated how far that trade down could be.I believed the defense was a very good edge defender away from being elite.

He had some positive buzz in preseason and had a strip sack this week but otherwise has been battling injury and hadn't done too much.

I remember. No reason to project him there over Davenport or others and if you're going middle...

I was a Nelson and Edmunds guy...

Both of them would be solid on this team... also Clowney is one of the premier pass rushers and athletes in all of football... The stats hardly speak for his talent...

Game didn't end in a tie. Houston won after Reich went for it on 4th down and they failed.

Liked Nelson, surprised he was taken that high
Lost balance trying to pick up stunt by clowney,

Draft worked out well since Mack fell in the Bears lap, Smith looks like a tackling machine.
