Is it possible Caldwell is mentoring a young Jim Bob Cooter for a future Head Coaching job and giving him praise when he's doing most the work? Yes. I have no idea if Lions had injuries that caused issues that year, Stafford was stressed or new talent came in or was improved that helped the Lions.

I like Jim Bob Cooter and I'd prefer him to John Fox but we need to understand the red flags that come with him.

I'm sure Pace is gonna be very careful and give as much thought to whoever he chooses as our next HC if Fox does get fired or leaves after this season so you could be right about JBC. He doesn't have a big resume' to go off of so Pace might not wanna take a chance like that which might be a good idea and that would make J.McDaniels more of a question mark as well with what happened in Denver.
