What offensive workload this isn't a case where the team is struggling offensively? The more offensive contributions they have gotten from others the more lax their defense has become .

The box score doesn't tell the whole story . As soon as Billy stuck Ayo and TBJ out there and nothing else changed besides the Bulls simply stopped being out hustled they took control .

That somehow you are saying that Zach and Demar shouldn't be expected to play defense to start games because of the offensive load they must carry is taking excuse making to the next level . They dont have to be perfect but the small ball does not work unless all 5 guys are hustling and active .
Things I didn’t say for 1,000, please!!

It doesn’t matter that the offense is playing well…Zach and Demar are the two that work the hardest on the offensive end. You either have never played basketball, or when you did, you clearly were not a scorer

Guys that are relied upon offensively to the extent Zach and Demar are, they have to pick their spots defensively to conserve energy. Not to mention, you can’t afford to have either get into foul trouble

And again, I don’t really subscribe to your notion that they don’t bring it on the defensive end…it’s just Zach and Demar are average defenders to begin with. They have never been anywhere near a ball or Caruso level defender anyways, so not sure what you’re really expecting out of them defensively, that they aren’t already doing

Zach and DeMar definitely try defensively.. especially Zach.. their abilities just aren't "good" or "elite" by any means. The Bulls don't exactly need them to be though.

Last night's game did push the Bulls defensive rating up 3 spots to 11th in the league now, just a hair behind Brooklyn at 10.

I think Zach has turned into a plus defender this year, both on and off ball

Problem is it's all subjective as defensive stats are fairly hard to measure how good someone actually is at defense.

Zach is still a fairly average defender based on what I've seen, but he's not bad.

Yeah I hate defensive stats, tbh. Based on the eye test I’m comfortable labeling LaVine no worse than a solid defender, perhaps slightly above average

I guess I shouldn't complain, at least we're back on national TV.
