I'm gonna go Kmet on offense and E.Jackson on defense.

I also think Mooney will breakout especially after Fields takes over and i think Kmet will take that next step with Dalton or Fields starting. I might be using more hope when i say Eddie for the defense but i do think he'll be good this year.

How can someone "breakout" if they are earning one of the league's highest salaries for a position? Eddie Jackson needs to get his head of his rectum and actually earn his paycheck. EJ is not a breakout. He just needs to not suck otherwise the defensive backfield is doomed.

Kindle Vildor is my breakout pick. I think he's going to start somewhere. He could beat out Trufant on the outside, and I definitely think he's a better player than Duke Shelley in the slot. I could see him having a 4 INT season in either spot.

As for Darnell Mooney, I think everyone saw the missed deep throws this past season and saw the deep throws Fields completed vs. Clemson and think it's going to be Fields launching 60 yarders to Mooney in Chicago all year. While I do think they'll hit Mooney on a few more of those, the true improvement from him will come in the 15-25 yard range. The Bears couldn't hit throws beyond 10 yards all year so they used Mooney underneath way too much to balance out the deep shots they took a couple times a game (they actually did throw a fair share of deep balls to Mooney, 11th most in the NFL). But there's no reason a guy with Mooney's speed should have 10.3 yards per catch. The best thing about a deep threat WR is not actually hitting them deep, it's the threat of the deep ball that gets them all kinds of cushion and easy yards on comeback routes. That actually works out perfectly to what Fields had success with at Ohio St. Mooney may not catch much more than the 61 he did as a rookie, but he should be closer to 850-950 yards than the 630 he had last year.

Justin Fields starting Wk 4

After a likely 1 and 2 start with Dalton, either him getting beaten up in wk one and getting beaten up and wk 3 he gets injured and forces the Bears to put in someone with legs to make the offense less predictable. My gut feeling says as a unit, the O line if still very meh in terms of run blocking because you still have 4 out of 5 of the same starters on the O line. Against good teams, the Bears could run the ball which forces them to pass and defenses pin their ears back and challenge Dalton to make the right throw and quickly. If he can't do a better job of that then Foles, the Bears will struggle out the gate. Only way I see them stealing a win from the Browns or Rams is If Dalton can make a read fast enough. But, that also means giving him plays that work fast enough. Nagy didn't do that with Foles, so right now he needs to prove that he made a mistake there and change his gameplan up with Dalton. Hopefully he can do that. If not, Fields is out there.

Defense Kindle Vidor starts wk 1 over Trufant or slot.

It's not a likely thing like the Fields starting but there is more of a reason to think Vildor will start this season than Fields. Vildor unlike Fields has played for this team and he didn't look as bad as I thought he might. His biggest issue if I remember right we penalties, not so much where he was in terms of his coverage. He cleans that up I like his odds of being on the field wk 1. If Trufant proves he is the better man fine. Vildor also has another lane to start as the Slot corner on this Team where the room is full of challengers for that spot too as Well. I feel Vildor can excel in both spots, more so than Shelly if given the chance or anyone else for that matter

I don’t think it will be Kmet. I am fairly confident that his ceiling is Kyle Rudolph. I just don’t see a dynamic athlete or down field receiver.

I am not saying that is a bad thing. If he is a 600 yards and 6 TDs and is a plus blocker I will be very happy.

I just don’t see a difference maker. I see a very solid offensive starter.

Agreed. Rudolph's breakout year was 83-840-7TDs, which is phenomenal, but he didn't do that until his 6th year, and that team was throwing out then unproven Diggs and Thielen at WR. Just don't see big numbers like that from TEs that aren't basically big WR types unless you have bad WRs.

On offense Montgomery. He will get 1600 yards rushing and 300-400 yards receiving. This is due to Bears having a real O-line for once.

On defense Graham at CB. I have a feeling he will be the next late round CB gem like Richard Sherman, Courtland Finnegan, and Al Harris. A team can find pro bowlers in secondary in late rounds.

I’m going to say it is the whole OLine collectively. I think they come together and are a top 5 squad.

I think his ceiling will be better than Rudolphs. Rudolph has basically averaged 450 yards and 5 TDs in a 10 year career. Kmet got half of that playing limited snaps his rookie season.

Anthony Miller will have a breakout year <contract season>

Fields won't be afraid like Mitch to call Miller out if he runs the wrong route.

At one point by mid season he only had like a 9% route participation.

Thats awful.

His rookie season was fine for a guy who they didnt really use in the passing game until late in the year. Seems like a common theme with matt nagy. FFS Harris should have never been taking passing snaps at TE. Thanks Nagy.

I think Mustipher is one to keep an eye on to at least become an average center. He struggled a bit but he has the cojones for the position. I don't see a situation where TJ comes out and sucks worse than Leno, if he does then a massive bust.. don't see it, he will AT LEAST upgrade the run game. So, I am gonna say the offensive line will look light years better than last year, not that their bar was very high.
