Caruso played a really good game yesterday and the Bulls needed every bit of it to beat the lowly wizards at home. Good scoring efforts from the “Big 3” but some really grade school type turnovers from Demar and Zach. I really questioned some of Zach’s late game shot selection, but he made them late so no harm there. If he missed them, you’d easily be able to look back and label them bad shots, but this is just who LaVine is…you’re always going to have to live with that and hope he hits them. Unlike Demar, he’s not good at getting to a favorable spot on the floor and getting a high % shot or drawing the foul. Felt both of them took some bad shots and forced the issue.

Vuc is also quietly having a really good season. I would imagine his trade value is pretty good right now. Bulls should strike on that

It was nice to see Vuc actually get something going offensively. 5 3s vs 16 shots still not an ideal ratio, but he was making them so yay. Still would like to see him used more in anything closer to the basket, but alas.

As lowly as the Wizards are, at least as of now, Bulls are still worse. It's a bad team beating another bad team at this stage.

Correct. Which is pretty sad because I think you can argue that the Bulls have more talent

On paper the Bulls are definitely the more talented team. Much of why this team sucks so bad, they're performing like the DWill/Joe Johnson Nets teams

Forgot about that team, understandably so. I remember when the Bulls were going to sign JJ but the Hawks gave him that ridiculous contract that he never remotely lived up to

Man he would've been soo good on that Bulls team...

Heck JJ Redick would've been pretty good too comparatively, nothing could be done with that RFA match though

If they signed Johnson (even Reddick) there would have been a decent shot they could have won the chip in 2010

I actually think dragic should start. He’s the best mix of shooting and play making and he’s a good enough defender as well. I never realized how good of a passer he is. He’s a legit play maker and not someone who just runs an offense and passes to the open guy. He makes things happen

Damn, almost a 30 spot in he first half. No luka and that kind of makes me go how great is he cause I believe he is the best player in the league.

I think that’s true, trade Caruso and use Ayo as a 6th man.

These rotations need simplifying and consolidation into present or future talent.

Trade a couple guys out and there are even more behind them to showcase before selling higher.

Ball is frustrating situation for all. And I ask can the guy really make us that much better?

Maybe. That’s why you don’t prematurely blow it up. Our best space creator is Ball. He does three things which make everyone else better. He hits clutch perimeter shots. He’s a top 20 passer in the NBA. And he defends well with length.

Caruso, Dragic and Ayo can’t do all 3 quite as well. Either one can go but both behind Ball are certainly redundant with all the other playable backups.

Dragic. Coby. DJJ. Rookie pick.

Just one day after everything clicks vs a Luka-less Mavs, Bulls look back to their old ways and primed to get blown out by Atlanta without Murray

Just an overtime loss at the buzzer.

I missed the game but looking at the box score one thing immediately jumped out:

In 16 minutes, Drummond put up 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 steals. That’s pretty amazing…so why the hell did Vuc play 20 more minutes than him? In 36 minutes, Vuc put up 13 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals.

BD is completely clueless with in game management and riding the hot hand. Again, I didn’t watch the game for full context, but in the surface, it seems like a dumb decision

A loss is still a loss. Tin foil hat fans can argue that more time should have been taken off the clock when Demar was fouled so that last shot by Griffin should've never happened, but Bulls are cursed in the clutch this year so

The worst part of it was that he left Vuc in for the final play, which was on defense…instead of putting Drummond in the game and letting him protect the rim

What happens? Of course in 0.5 seconds they are able to inbound the ball close to the rim and get a good look that goes in with little contesting of the shot by DJJ because he is scared to foul the guy because he isn’t big enough to make a play on the ball while knowing he won’t foul the guy

I don't think DJJ's contest at the end was quite as bad as described there but it's definitely a feels bad thing.

It can just as easily be said why wasn't Vuc just staying down low, he's got 6 more inches than DJJ to contest with. And the last thing any player regardless of height wants to do in that scenario is foul.

If you really want to blame DJJ for the loss, just blame him for missing that FT at the end of regulation. He makes that and it's a win
