A Collins/Smith split at center next year would be nice, but isn't it more likely that Smith is dealt than Vooch? Especially with the year in which the deal expires, far less teams will be willing to take on an expiring deal for a center in his mid thirties than a serviceable backup with less mileage and extra year of team-friendly salary.

Either way, it's liberating to know this team will be going into an offseason without that Lavine contract staring them in the face.
Vuc being an expiring can go either way for trade value, depends on the team you're trying to trade to. A team just looking to clear out cap space might be willing to accept Vuc's expiring, but return might be peanuts. It's also hard to know with AK, what value is really on the table

AK's overpaying of Giddey is already top of the list of 2025 offseason mistakes which will surely be its own thread in 6 month's time

The guy is 22 years old, has six triple doubles since joining the team, and is reportedly asking for a multiyear extension worth around $30M annually. Does that feel like an overpay?

Personally, I wouldn't go higher than 30M annually, but I feel like AK might pay him more. We'll see though.

Well, at least now you can say Giddey has at least earned some of that money

Season end. The more things change, the more they stay the same

I'm honestly impressed at how this team can remain so aggressively mid as to post the same mediocre record year after year. It doesn't matter who you add or subtract, it manages to stay the same.
