I'm still trying to figure out what the Pelicans are doing giving up a 2026 unprotected 1st for Derik Queen
Hawks lucked out. If they were smart, they make that a centerpiece of a package to get Giannis. Atlanta radio is going bonkers over this trade(as they should); it might be one of the dumbest decisions ever. This even trumps Dumars drafting Darko at #2. The East is wide open; Atlanta would be wise to lock down Giannis for the next 5+ years and finally win a championship.

I have no idea. All I can think is this years draft was significantly more talented and the two players they picked have big upside. I guess they are going with Zion for another year and if continues move him out. There is a lot of talent in the team but I have no idea how they fit. Duane’s did pretty much make the whole team the same age now with no old players.

2026 is considered stronger than 2025.

I would let say considered stronger. But not weak so I was wrong on that. I don’t see the Bucks being bad. Giannis is too good with a lot of injuries in the East. Do Pels collapse? Healthy, no was they are in a spot for a top. Injured then yea, I don’t know what they doing. Sumatra seems to have a plan and only thing being said is he an old head. We will see. Either picks hit, this trade probably don’t matter.

Giannis might be moved and it’s actually morel likely that he is moved. And if he is, this is a top 3 pick.

I see a bit of Giannis with the Noa pick. Same height at draft but Noa is already 10 pounds heavier. Both couldn’t shoot at this age and you’re just getting a lotto ticket. Maybe in 6 years it works out but given the Bulls’ inability to develop players unlikely.

What gets me is they didn't even wait to see who was available at 45.
It made no difference to them.

So I guess it was cap related or they really liked a sleeper. Hope they got their guy.

Doesn't matter whether the comparison is right or not because Bulls lack the player development needed to generate anything other than a bust

Oh and we flipped our second for cash, in a top 5 market.
Just sell all our picks and the team Reiny.

WTF?

My boycott starts now, will not watch the Bullshit under any circumstances until we make leadership overhaul.

This is going to get ugly. The White Sox are doomed. Blackhawks sadly just as lost.

Un fucking real.

Should have tanked this bulls team 2-3 years ago and recycled asset value while collecting high picks.
Remove MJ from the equation and the Bulls might be literally the most unserious team in the league's history if you consider their market

From espn:
Chicago Bulls A-

I'm intrigued by how Essengue will fit with 2024 lottery pick Matas Buzelis, another young combo forward. If they shoot well enough to play together at forward or Buzelis bulks up enough to play center at times, they'd give Chicago combined strengths of length and athleticism.

Credit to the Bulls for taking the best player available and continuing to draft young, despite their resistance to bottoming out and picking higher in the lottery.

They're actually competitive in their early days.. the days of Bob Love, Jerry Sloan, Norm Van Lier... they got old around the time the NBA-ABA merger happened and the Bulls then were mostly bad. Artis Gilmore and Reggie Theus helped a little, but weren't anywhere near enough.

If we assume the Blazers draft Jordan and the Bulls take Sam Bowie, and Jerry Reinsdorf still buys the team, there is every reason to believe that the Bulls never end up champions in the league. The question around that really is how is Jerry Krause in the 1980s without Jordan. Krause wasn't a bad evaluator of talent by any means as he had a ton of NBA scouting and found lots of good players (and fell in love with lots of bad players). But his combo of talent eval and his giant ego, I do certainly question his ability to actually build a championship team all by himself.

Also in this alternative timeline, without Jordan, the Bulls don't become the powerhouse money grabber they currently are, so does that make Jerry Krause act differently? Does he dump Jerry Krause if the Bulls aren't performing and making him money?

Questions certainly... but if we look on the surface, you're probably right in that this team is like the Sacramento Kings.

What’s the problem? Go back and read the Giannis draft profiles. Complete mystery at the time. Just a long armed skinny dude from a lesser Euro league. Same as Noa.

Wingspan?
Attitude?

Giannis is one of the most physically dominant forwards to ever play the game. He might/nearly usurps Shawn Kemp and Karl Malone. Lebron James territory attacking the rim.

If that is your idea for this kid then I guess you will be laughing/crying soon enough.
