Justice is not using one. He said that his body of work speaks for it self. But down the road if he needs to adjust he is open to it

Cody switched to one. But he needs any cheat code at this point

Justice isn't using one?

What about Judge?

Or Jury?

I don’t think the bats matter too much. It’s the pitching that is pretty poor league wide that is making it easy on the hitters.

Kyle Tucker is a machine.
What are the chances they resign him? Seems like after giving up prospects, the 🔥 start to the season he's had, and the cheap way ownership is running the team, the fan base would revolt if they don't resign him.

He ass canned the 2016 WS team. Dude puts profit over fans. He knows that Cubs fans are addicted

If it was a year later and Happ, Taillon and Boyd were off the payroll sure

I feel that the unlikely chance is a semi trade off of short term like Happ and Taillon. They replace with Alcantara in LF and Horton in the rotation. That would give the payroll flexibility needed to sign Tucker.

Regardless, good win. I am enjoying 2025. Worrying about 2026 ruins what is happening now

You must have not been watching how Jed let Schwarber go for nothing. Then Brizzo and Javy got the boot.

Tom was not going to pay these guys.

So ya they were the core of the 2016 team.
lmao yeah, i saw how he wisely traded away bryant, javy, and rizzo. why on earth should he have kept any of those 3? would you rather have those 3 and not have crow armstrong and the rest of the prospects the cubs got for those 3??

imagine complaining about trading away aging dead weight

Not the point. It was about retention. All 3 could have done fine. Many cases that happens.

To date there is nothing that leads me to believe that Tom will over pay. Nothing.

The Merrill deal today would be the ideal scenario for Tom. Pay for the first 10 years vs the back 10.

Tucker will get 10/400M. I just don't see Tom signing off on it. He would rather lock up home grown for under market value

He gave those guys 4 more years and they did nothing but regress.

Javy put up his best 2 years in 2018 and 19. 2020 was the COVID shut down.

So not sure on that one. He tanked after going to Detroit.

Bryant was injuries. 2017 he posted a 7 fWAR season. Then the string of injuries happened.

Of the 3 Kris was unlikely with injuries and Boras over demanding.

Rizzo pretty much capped out at 5.3 in 2014. He had a slow decline up to COVID. Think 3.3 was his well.

I would take a 3.3 on this team any day from Busch. Just saying.
